Pineapple Support to Host Relationship Support Group |
|
CHATSWORTH, Calif.âAdult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support will host a free, online support group starting next month focused on enhancing connection and personal growth. The six-week support group, âEnhancing Interpersonal Connections for Growth and Supportâ will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Selina Smith and will begin on Monday, December 1 at 9 p.m. ET. âThis group is designed to help performers explore meaningful interpersonal connections, starting with the relationship they have with themselves,â Smith said. âOver six weeks, weâll work through authentic self-awareness, trust, intimacy and community, offering a safe space for reflection and actionable strategies for stronger, healthier relationships.â Pineapple Support was founded by Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 16,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support. âBuilding strong interpersonal connections is a vital part of emotional resilience,â Tanit said. âThis support group offers performers a valuable opportunity to connect with themselves and others in a compassionate space, exploring trust, intimacy and community. These are tools we all need, both personally and professionally.â The âEnhancing Interpersonal Connections for Growth and Supportâ group begins on Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET . Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Monday for six weeks.
