Bree Mills Wraps Pure Taboo Feature 'The Secrets We Share'

MONTREAL—Adult Time has wrapped production on The Secrets We Share, the latest Pure Taboo feature written and directed by Bree Mills, “building on intense drama, emotional complexity and high-stakes erotic storytelling,” a studio representative said. The story follows an outwardly wholesome Los Angeles household whose cracks begin to show after a Canadian exchange student, played by Lilly Bell in her first feature with Mills, moves in. Also starring Penny Barber, Max Fills, Axel Haze, Tyler Cruise and Charles Dera, The Secrets We Share dives into sexual manipulation, unraveling relationships and dark familial power struggles—with Fills stepping into his first dramatic lead role. “I was so excited to work on Bree Mills’ new feature, The Secrets We Share. If I was going to ask Bree to write a character for me to play, this is the character that it would be,” said Barber. “It’s nice to be able to show myself off as an actor because I’m usually doing pretty much the same thing. My character is weird, controlling and perverse—all things that I love to portray on screen. I’m so excited that Adult Time wanted to do this project. You’re going to love it.” Bell said, “It’s been a challenging project, but I was so excited to let my imagination run wild. This is my first time working with Bree Mills on a feature, which has been really cool. The sex scenes, especially the one with Charles Dera, turned out so great. I play a 20-year-old Canadian exchange student who arrives at a seemingly perfect all-American family’s big, nice house in Los Angeles, eager to escape my hometown. But beneath the surface, there are these ... intertwining connections, giving the movie a bit of a Saltburn vibe. My character might need a mental hospital after her time with this family.” Fills enthused, “This is a really special movie for me. This is the first time I’ve taken the lead in a dramatic role like this, so it’s been really fun. The Adult Time crew has been incredible to work with. Everyone really poured out our heart and soul into this movie. It’s been a very emotional roller coaster for me. I screamed. I cried. I laughed. It’s an incredible piece and I worked really hard on this one.” Haze said, “It’s obviously going to be a super crazy, sexy movie—but there are a ton of twists. The director, the crew ... everyone was fabulous. You guys have got to see it.” Cruise noted, “This is probably the craziest script I’ve ever done. I’m not going to spoil it, but you guys will find out soon. I’m so excited about this movie. I got to work with three new people that I’ve never worked with, plus Penny Barber, which is amazing.
