French Site Michel et Jacquie Transitions Ownership

PARIS, France—Founded in November 1999, French adult content site Jacquie et Michel celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. After 25 years of family-led management, the company has embarked on a transition. Jacquie et Michel has been acquired by “an international fund specializing in the entertainment industry. The fund presents an exceptional opportunity for the brand’s global expansion,” a company representative said. Moving forward, the brand will be managed from the United States under a new company, JetM Technology Solutions. Following the transition, some company operations will be managed from the United States, while others will be handled by teams based in Canada, Cyprus and Hungary. This new structure aims to tailor content to international audiences by acquiring region-specific material while preserving core content elements. Michel Piron, founding owner of Jacquie et Michel, has faced a challenging period in recent years. In June 2022, he was indicted “following false accusations brought forward by prohibitionist associations,” the representative detailed. The case led to an investigation by two Parisian law enforcement units—the Police Judiciaire (PJ) followed by the Section de Recherche (SR). Over four years, Piron “endured extensive interrogations, high-profile custody, searches, and wiretaps,“ the representative added. Piron has consistently and firmly denied all allegations. In November, after a four-year investigation, the indictment was fully annulled by the three investigating judges handling the case. In France, the change in leadership also marks the complete closure of operations, with offices now permanently shut down.  However, the brand will continue to adhere to French laws, particularly those related to the protection of minors. Since 2020, Jacquie et Michel has adopted online safeguards for minors through its My18Pass tool and a partnership with Yoti, an advanced technology solution for verifying user ages.
