Mick Blue Wins Second Straight NASA SoCal Regional Championship

LOS ANGELES—Mick Blue returned to the desert in late November with the 2024 National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Southern California Regional championship on the line. And the Brazzers contract star and three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year from Austria left with his second straight title. Blue did what he had to do in his Bad Dragon BMW at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, Calif., winning the second race of the weekend outright to seal the victory. “I came in as the leader with a 115 points lead, and we had three races to go,” Blue, who has been racing cars professionally when he's not performing for over seven years, tells AVN. “Even though it was a little bit of a rough weekend—in the first race I was running second and cracked the oil pan and had to retire—in the second race I started in first place and was able to win and that basically sealed the championship.” In the last race, Blue finished fifth after a collision with another car sent him spinning into the dirt, causing him to lose 20 seconds with four laps to go. But it didn’t matter in the championship standings because he had already clinched the title. “At the end of the day I was able to wrap up the championship in the Spec E30 class with 100 points over second place and that makes it two years in a row,” Blue says. “I’m super thankful for Bad Dragon for being my title sponsor and super supportive. They helped me to get to those events and this definitely was so far my strongest year in my racing career. “Winning the national championship in Spec E30 and wrapping up the regional championship in Spec E30 with eight wins out of 17 races and a total of 15 podiums in the class. So it was quite a dominant season. “And in the Time Trial I came in third place at the nationals as well.” In the NASA racing series, Spec E30 is a racing category where competitors race only slightly modified BMW E30 3 Series cars.Blue says the 2025 racing season will start as early as February, but he hasn’t finalized his plans yet on which racing class he’ll participate in. Regardless, Mick will enter the 2025 campaign as the back-to-back regional champion and the first driver in the Spec E30 class from the SoCal region to have won the Spec E30 national championship. It caps an incredible year for Blue professionally as the AVN Hall of Fame performer enters January with 12 AVN Awards nominations, including for his directing and mainstream crossover role on General Hospital. “I like to be humble but it still feels good,” Blue says. “If you’re fortunate to have the opportunity to have achieved something that is difficult then you realize even more how fortunate you are and how special certain things are…So it’s important to always remember that.”
