MFC's Gia Hill Featured in November Issue of CAMStar

LOS ANGELES—Gia Hill admits it would be hard to list all the reasons she loves going live on MyFreeCams, but a couple things are for sure.“Aside from the obvious benefits, I really like the ability to do it how you want to do it,” Hill says. “Probably my favorite thing at the moment is that other people are as interested in my cats as I am.” Indeed, sharing her daily life with the beloved members she calls the Gang has become second nature to Gia, whose twin sister Noma describes her as “enigmatic, bold and surprisingly tolerant.” In this exclusive interview, the November 2024 AVN CAMStar dishes on nutrition, being a “jack-of-all-trades,” her special relationship with her sister, IPAs, her approach to camming and her remakable consistency, plus much more. Drinks are always popular when I sell them, but I don’t always. When I'm not drinking, I have a tip for a cup of tea which is popular. People love my “Appreciation Tip Menu” which is actually an idea from an OG model—Ada Lovelace. She’s an MFC vet; I've always admired her. Members can send 5 tokens at a time to show appreciation for specific things. Song appreciation, hair appreciation, outfit appreciation, background appreciation—so on and so forth! It's a fun, cheap way to show love. Little tips like that absolutely do add up.  How did you develop your camming routine? This is gonna be a doozie; let’s light this candle. I took a break from MFC starting the beginning of 2015, and did not return until the end of 2018. A LOT changed from my first four-year run on MFC. From 2011-15, there was no schedule. I just showed up when I felt like it. I came right out of a full-time job when I returned to camming in 2018, so I was adjusted to having a regimented schedule. While working one of my vanilla jobs, I would sometimes think, “If I could just apply this type of schedule to camming—there’s no way I couldn't make more than I do now.” I figured if a consistent weekly schedule was good enough for the corporate world, it was good enough for me. Although I’m rarely online exactly as soon as I'd like to be, I very rarely cancel streams. Sure, camming is fun, but it's also a job and should be treated as such. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a very successful MFC model who said, “It’s like a TV show, members want to know when to tune in.” That’s the strategy behind my schedule. I'm fortunate in how things have developed in my life outside of cam. I’ve had very few major events that prevented me from camming for any significant amount of time. On the other hand, I’ve also been very intentional about how I spend my time. Being successful in any field requires sacrifice of your time outside of being extraordinarily lucky. I’ve been lucky enough to have cam as an option in the first place, but I have not been lucky enough to succeed without continuous effort. You can believe in miracles, but you shouldn't count on them. My life is designed around camming to the chagrin of family and friends. It took a lot of experimenting to find the time slot and days of the week that work best for me. Keeping data on these things is something I highly recommend to models. It’s one thing to go off a feeling—i.e. “Friday nights are usually busy” and yet another to say “according to the numbers, my average on Friday night is xx tokens per minute while Thursday night is xx tokens per minute.”Currently, my schedule is built around collected and synthesized data as unsexy as that is. There is nothing organic or spontaneous about it. MFC does collect useful info for models to learn from over time, but does not interpret it for you. It would be wonderful if MFC collected and synthesized this information for models, such as your best days/time slots on average, but I was happy to track it and analyze it on a spreadsheet myself and develop my schedule accordingly. Maybe, I'm secretly a nerd though. How do you use MFC Share?MFC Share is an absolutely incredible change in the platform from when I started. In 2011, you had to count and deduct individual tips from the count yourself. At least that's how I remember it. Content distribution was a total nightmare. On several occasions, I MAILED people custom videos on a thumb drive. MFC Share is a significant change for the better. It’s a content hub, as well as a wonderful way to automate club memberships (i.e. monthly Snapchat subscription) and collect historical data (stream times, Miss MFC rank history). I cannot speak highly enough of the utility of MFC Share as someone who was MFC before it was an option.Which clips have been your most popular and why?People love the really dirty stuff, so there's no surprises here. The dirtier a clip tends to be the better it sells. The only true surprise I’ve ever had with content sales is how much people like cosplay. I'm not a cosplay girlie, but I have the utmost respect for them. The clip people bought the most that surprised me was where I dressed as Velma from Scooby-Doo. I could not predict that, and I cannot explain it, lol How often are you tipped for “Detailed written cock rating” and how do you like writing those? It gets tipped for occasionally, but not often. Maybe 2-3x a year. Most guys want the instant gratification of getting their dick ratings right then and there. It’s actually easier for me to do in the moment, so I usually steer guys in that direction to save me from some “homework” after streaming. My ratings are notoriously direct. I will ask guys ahead of time if they are really looking for an honest answer. The invariable answer is “yes.” These guys rarely become repeat customers. What do you attribute to your amazing consistency on cam—with 33 times in the top 147?Where do I start? There have been plenty of models who have had shorter cam careers than me and been more “successful.” I always enjoyed streaming, but I did not reach top 100 until 2022. I had been active on MFC for 65 months prior to that. For a long time, I actually felt almost invisible. It was a puzzle to me how after all this time and focus I couldn't seem to make it really “work.” I was happy to escape the rat race of a 9-5, but I could not figure out what models in the top 20 had that I didn't. To be honest, I kind of felt fucked. Like my time had passed, I returned to camming too late, I blew my chances in the beginning by doing too much for too cheap, I was old news, the market was too saturated, there was just a forcefield of mediocrity surrounding me and I should just sit down, shut up, and be grateful. So all of these suspicions left me with a chip on my shoulder and needed to prove that I WAS someone. So I just continued to show and push for myself. The question I lead with is if I gave it everything I had, how far could I go? How much can I improve my stamina and capacity? Truth be told—I am a self-improvement junkie and always looking for opportunities to improve. Cam for me has been a really clear outward manifestation of my focus. If there is a God, I believe he purposely made my path difficult so that I could take lessons I needed to learn to be “successful” on cam into other areas of my life. You're probably thinking, “Wow, didn't think we were going there today, Gia.” There are other factors at play, but one of my main drivers of consistency is just knowing that no one is coming to save me. … And if someone IS coming to save me, I better be available for it! What advice would you give a new cam model trying to establish herself—what are your keys to having longevity on cam?1.) Be prepared for whatever you do on the internet to be discovered by people you love.2.) Keep things expensive.3.) Do not take privates in the middle of an ongoing stream. Only before or after a public stream if at all.4.) Your word is all you have. Don't make promises unless you're SURE you can keep them.5.) Stay in touch offline.6.) Do not tolerate disrespect. You show other people how to treat you by how you treat yourself.7.) When in doubt, turn around and shake that thing.8.) Don't just wait for things to be handed to you. It is okay to ask directly for what you want.9.) If you start to stand out, people may try to bring you down. Ignore them.10.) Never haggle. If people want it, they'll pay full price.11.) Attention and focus are KEY. Avoid multi-tasking.12.) Be clear and public about your goals. You never know who wants to help you reach them. What is your most underrated attribute?Another question I don't know if I can answer accurately about myself. I think this is something I would really have to ask someone else, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say my patience. It's a quiet trait and really hard to notice at first because by definition, it's something that can only be seen over time. I will go ahead and give myself credit for being able to sit quietly and wait my turn. I’ve eaten a lot of shit to be where I am in life on a few different levels. In my career, in my fitness, in my spiritual life. I have a remarkably high tolerance for bullshit. It's not easy to upset me. This quality has gotten me into trouble more than once, and I know people underestimate me because of it. It's easy to notice someone who makes a lot of noise, and mistake their hubris for strength. I don't get what I want by being loud, aggressive, or self-righteous. Don't get me wrong, you have to know when it’s time to speak up and/or move on. But I tend to get what I want by having the restraint to submit myself to a gradual process and letting compound interest accrue. Photography by @nikkieliotmedia & @NomaHillxxx
