Mick Blue Cast in Netflix Series |
LOS ANGELESâAVN award-winning performer Mick Blue has landed a role in Netflixâs hit series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, portraying a Los Angeles County Jail inmate serving time alongside the infamous brothers.  This opportunity marks Blueâs latest crossover into mainstream media as part of Ryan Murphyâs critically acclaimed anthology series, and according to Blue, his journey to the role came about unexpectedly while on a flight to Las Vegas.  "I saw the audition call for a featured background actor, immediately sent in my audition, and three hours later I was booked for the role! It was a fast turnaround," shared Blue, who stands out in his featured scenes that take place in the jailâs communal showersâin particular, the scene where an inmate pulls off Lyle Menendezâs toupee and the men surrounding him laugh at the spectacle. Stepping onto the set in April, Blue was immediately struck by the scale of the production. "I couldnât believe it when I found out that I would be a part of Ryan Murphyâs anthology series,â Blue recalled. "It was my first time spending two-and-a-half hours in makeup to get sticker tattoos. They told me, âYou look too niceâletâs get you tatted!â It was a really great experience."  Reflecting on his role, Blue added, "I was lucky to be in a featured part where the audience can clearly see me. Often in background roles, youâre not as visible, but this time, it all came together so quickly. You have to start with those little moments to get to the big ones."  Blue last week announced his recurring role in the iconic daytime soap opera, General Hospital.  Catch Mick Blue in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix, and follow his on-set adventures on Instagram @themickblue.
