Chaturbate Enjoys Successful Health & Wellness Online Event

LOS ANGELES—Chaturbate hosted its 4th annual "Health and Wellness" event online this past Monday. While focusing on the larger theme of “Relationships & Social Well-Being,” each of the four panels discussed various practical and professional concerns that impact both new and experienced broadcasters and creators.  “Each discussion had so many insightful as well as moving moments—this is really the side of camming that more people need to see,” said Chaturbate COO Shirley Lara. “The initiative Chaturbate took for this event was inspiring and a very big step in the right direction,” said Johnny Stone. “I’m so proud to be a part of this project and I hope it will continue to garner more recognition for its potential to truly transform the industry as we know it. Having these conversations is so important and meaningful!” Lilith Eden agreed. “It’s inspiring to be a part of Chaturbate’s initiative to provide comprehensive wellness resources to its models and members–very few other companies, especially in the adult industry, are mindful of our physical health, let alone our mental, emotional, financial, [or] sociopolitical wellbeing," she said. “The panelists all provided so many helpful perspectives—and even in the chat, we saw some wonderful dialogues and engagement happening,” added Lara. “Health & Wellness simply would not be possible without such generous and wonderful community members.” Panel #1, “Building Healthy Relationships,” featured MyGigiDior, Tantric_Eden_ , and Colbyknox, and moderator, Nicoletta Heidegger, Sexologist, MA, MEd.  As Heigedder began the discussion, all panelists relayed their experiences with the importance of open communication when it comes to creating and sustaining healthy connections. Gigi Dior and Eden also emphasized the importance of knowing who you are and what you want, and also the power of choice and small gestures to sustain intimacy. Meanwhile, the camming couple Colbyknox shared their tips for maintaining individualism in relationships as well as strategies to help couples avoid conflating feedback with criticism.  Panel #2, “Fostering a Welcoming Community at Chaturbate,” featured MaryMoody, TheJohnnyStone, AndyLynnPayne, and Heidegger stepping in as moderator again.  While Mary Moody and Johnny Stone emphasized the importance of networking for career-building and attending industry events, trans broadcaster AndyLynnPayne shared her raw account of how becoming a cam model has opened the doors to her financial freedom and deep personal satisfaction.  AndyLynnPayne stated: “I feel very special for being able to share my story on how Chaturbate has offered a thriving career and community for myself and others. Not only has the platform bettered my own life, but my loving fans have allowed me to make my goals come true and many more that I previously never even dreamed of!” She added: “I look forward to many more exciting adventures with the Chaturbate community for many years to come!” The topic of “discernment” was a crucial aspect of Nicole Aniston’s keynote speech, “Balancing Boundaries: Tips for Thriving in Online and Personal Relationships.” The award-winning adult performer, creator, and cam model reflected on her fifteen year professional journey in the adult industry. As Aniston emphasized the importance of setting boundaries professionally and personally, she did not hold back from providing candid examples for others to learn by. The concluding panel, “The Social Media Mirror: Influencing Beauty and Cosmetic Choices,” featured MelissaStratton, Jill (of JackandJill), SweetKarmaBaby, and moderator, Dr. Roher M.D.  Once again, vulnerability was on full display as everyone shared their personal experiences with cosmetic procedures, and discussed how broadcasters can make empowered cosmetic choices and maintain a healthy self-image in a “heavily filtered” world. “Even as the last panel came to a close, engagement continued in the chat room,” said Lara. “It’s clear that we need more of these conversations–and we can’t wait to host our next event.” Eden agreed. “Health & Wellness month is one of the best ways Chaturbate has made caring about ourselves, our careers, and our communities simple, sexy and significant,” she said. “I had an amazing time speaking on Chaturbate's Health and Wellness panel, especially sharing my passion for community building,” said Mary Moody. “The event brought creators together in a truly meaningful way, and I’m excited for more opportunities like this in the future.
