Pineapple Support to Host Communication Skills Support Group |
CYBERSPACEâAdult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support will host a free, online support group starting this week to help performers build effective communication skills. The six-week âCommunicationâ support group, sponsored by SextPanther, will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Bridget Bycina and will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 2:00 p.m. PT. âBeing able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills,â Bycina said. âIt enables us to pass information to other people and to understand what is said to us. Successful communication helps us better understand people and situations. It helps us overcome diversities, build trust and respect, and create conditions for sharing creative ideas and solving problems.â Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling and emotional support. âCommunication skills are among the most utilized and sought-after in the workplace and relationships,â said Tanit. âGreat communication skills can make the difference between staying connected and aligned and achieving your goals. The good news is that improving communication skills is easier than you imagine. Join us in this support group, and weâll cover basic principles worth following to communicate better.â The six-week âCommunicationâ support group begins on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 2:00 p.m. PST (5:00 p.m. EST / 11:00 p.m. CET). Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, until Sept. 17.
