Pineapple Support, Sextpanther to Launch Communication Skills Support Group |
Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced it will host a free, online support group âto help performers build effective communication skills.â The six-week “Communication” support group, sponsored by Sextpanther, will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Bridget Bycina and will begin on Tuesday, August 13, at 2pm PST. âBeing able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills,â Bycina said. âIt enables us to pass information to other people and to understand what is said to us. Successful communication helps us better understand people and situations. It helps us overcome diversities, build trust and respect, and create conditions for sharing creative ideas and solving problems.â Founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018 following a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States. To date, the organization reports it has âconnected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.â âCommunication skills are among the most utilized and sought-after in the workplace and relationships,â Tanit said. âGreat communication skills can make the difference between staying connected and aligned and achieving your goals. The good news is that improving communication skills is easier than you imagine. Join us in this support group, and weâll cover basic principles worth following to communicate better.â The six-week âCommunicationâ support group begins on Tuesday, August 13, at 2pm PST (5pm EST / 11pm CET). According to the announcement, sessions will last for âaround one hourâ and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, through September 17.
