Daniel Shar Set to Debut One-Man Comedy Show 'Near Sex for Work' |
LOS ANGELESâDaniel Shar, who has made a unique career of working as a full-time non-nude non-sex extra in adult productions, is set to debut his new live comedy show âNear Sex For Workâ on Sunday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Lyric Hyperion (2106 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027). The multimedia-filled solo show exposes the true story, as Shar describes it, of "how one insecure man has found fleeting moments of confidence through his jobs facilitating other peopleâs orgasms." Since first getting hired by a sex shop while still a virgin, Shar has found unlikely success in a variety of other industry jobs, including OnlyFans account management and non-sex extra work. Touted as "tastefully raunchy with a throbbing heart," âNear Sex For Workâ chronicles Shar's unusual resumé with support from the most sensational media he has amassed along the way. This includes video highlights of some of his funniest improvised moments in scenes with stars like April Olsen, Bobby Adore, Christy Love, Codey Steele, Codi Vore, Em Indica, Kylie Page, Lacey Jayne, Madison Morgan, Nick Strokes, Queenie Sateen, Sarah Arabic, Scott Nails, Seth Gamble, Shay Sights, Skylar Snow, Rebel Rhyder, Will Tile, Vanna Bardot and more. Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 on the day, and can be purchased via Eventbrite here. Thanks to the help of his team at talent agency ATMLA, Shar has shot more than 50 scenes in the past year, including major dialogue roles in the new Digital Playground feature Dirty Cops directed by Ricky Greenwood and the forthcoming Adult Time feature Birth directed by Bree Mills. Sharâs signature sense of humor and improv skills have made him a go-to extra for several top directors, including Mills, Greenwood, Lea Lexis, Siouxsie Q, Michael Vegas, Sid Knox and Laurent Sky. Prior to entering the adult industry, Shar did sketch and improv in Chicago at The Second City, iO, Annoyance Theater and more. Comedy career highlights thus far include writing and directing the feature Scraps (Amazon Prime Video), co-creating and co-starring in four web series projects and a TV pilot presentation, writing for The Onion, and doing a bit on Conan (TBS).
