Clips4Sale Wins Intullectual Property Dispute at WIPO |
GENEVAâThe parent company of Clips4Sale has won an intellectual property dispute litigated by a panel at the intergovernmental World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a United Nations specialized agency in Geneva, Switzerland. A WIPO panel on March 21 sided with Clips4Sale's parent company, Muitas Ltd., in its complaint against a Cyprus-based entity called Domain Privacy and Domain Name Privacy Inc. The company registered the domain giantessaveclips4sale.com through a Canadian-based domain registrar, Tucows Inc., in Toronto. WIPO panelist Edoardo Fano issued the ruling indicating that Domain Privacy, the respondent to the Muitas complaint, registered giantessaveclips4sale.com in bad faith. Therefore, the resolution for the case is the transfer of the domain in question to the complainant. âClips4Sale has and will continue to aggressively pursue anyone that has violated its intellectual property rights," said Corey Silverstein of Silverstein Legal in an email. Silverstein, an attorney based in the village of Bingham Farms, Mich., outside of Detroit, represents Clips4Sale and Muitas in this case and several others at WIPO. "In this instance, WIPO made the correct ruling, and we are very pleased with Edoardo Fanoâs decision. Clips4Sale will continue to utilize all available legal resources to hold intellectual property infringers liable for their unlawful actions.â
