Pineapple Support Launches New Group for Performers on Autism Spectrum |
Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced the organization will host a free online support group designed to help performers on the autism spectrum. Sponsored by Pornhub, the six-week â”Sex Work on the Spectrum Support Group” will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Amy Studer and begins tonight, Tuesday March 12, at 9m PST. âThis safe and non-judgmental space offers practical insights and coping strategies tailored to the unique intersection of sex work and neurodivergence,â Studer said. âFrom establishing healthy boundaries and honing communication skills to building a support system, each week brings a new focus to empower participants.â Founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018 after the adult industry suffered a series of tragic losses of performer suffering from depression and other mental illnesses, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States. The organization reports it has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support, to date. âPornhub has long been a supporter of the work we do, and Iâm happy to have them behind such an important conversation,â Tanit said. âNavigating life as a performer on the autism spectrum can present unique challenges that can be difficult to manage alone. Access to stigma-free and sex-positive support for autistic performers is limited, so it’s imperative that we create a safe and inclusive experience to celebrate achievements, foster connections, and set the stage for validation and professional growth.” Sessions of the six-week âSex Work on the Spectrum Support Groupâ will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, according to the announcement.
