Pineapple Support Launches Group for Performers on Spectrum

LOS ANGELES—Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group to help performers on the autism spectrum, sponsored by Pornhub. The six-week “Sex Work on the Spectrum Support Group” will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Amy Studer and will begin on Tuesday, March 12th, at 9 a.m. PST. “This safe and non-judgmental space offers practical insights and coping strategies tailored to the unique intersection of sex work and neurodivergence,” says Pineapple Support therapist Amy Studer. “From establishing healthy boundaries and honing communication skills to building a support system, each week brings a new focus to empower participants.” Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected more than 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support. “Pornhub has long been a supporter of the work we do, and I’m happy to have them behind such an important conversation,” says Tanit. “Navigating life as a performer on the autism spectrum can present unique challenges that can be difficult to manage alone. Access to stigma-free and sex-positive support for autistic performers is limited, so it’s imperative that we create a safe and inclusive experience to celebrate achievements, foster connections, and set the stage for validation and professional growth.” The six-week “Sex Work on the Spectrum Support Group” begins on Tuesday, March 12th, at 9 a.m. PST (noon EST / 6 p.m. CET). Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, until April 16th.
