Daisy Taylor Discusses 2024 AVN Awards Triumphs

Huge crowds of adoring fans, literally thousands of adult performers and industry professionals attending the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) days before, and historic wins from the best in adult movies. There was one performer who caught a case of what she jokingly calls “AVN sickies.” She posted on X to her followers that night of the awards: “I came down with the AVN sickies, so I couldn’t make it to the awards tonight, but I’m so beyond grateful!” In her first interview with AVN since the awards show in Las Vegas on Jan. 27, trans superstar Daisy Taylor tells all about her reactions to winning two of the biggest honors of the night. Taylor won the coveted fan-voted award for Favorite Trans Porn Star and the honor for Best Thespian - Trans/X for her leading role in “Daisy’s Flower Box” for Aylo-owned imprint TransAngels. Dante Colle and Kane Fox co-starred. “For me specifically, Best Thespian means a lot because I love getting the opportunity to act,” Taylor tells AVN. “It is actually funny to me and to the crew because ‘Daisy’s Flower Box’ was one of those scenes that was truly thrown together—it wasn’t really all that well thought out. I get to have a great collaborative relationship with the TransAngels team in San Diego, and this is no different.” Taylor explains that the scene was conceptualized by the TransAngels team as having herself, Daisy, literally surrounded by daisies. “He was just like, ‘We are going to make you the flower girl,’” Taylor said of the scene’s director. “Truly, I think we bullshitted the entire scene. There was no script. There was no planning. The entire thing was improv. I think that is part of the reason why it was successful.” She continues, “There’s an element of realness, in terms of the acting…We were just having fun and playing around, and I think that ‘go with the flow’ energy comes through the camera.” Taylor’s win demonstrates her range not only as a sexual presence on screen but also as a performer in general. Unfortunately, she couldn’t be there to accept the trophy in person. “I definitely came down with something,” Daisy says. “But, I was very shocked.” Taylor revealed that she didn’t even expect to win at the 2024 AVN Awards, let alone a major triumph honoring her acting prowess. She would’ve “powered through” the red carpet, press interviews, and the awards show if she did. “I was getting texts from several different people saying, ‘Girl, you just won. They’re waiting for you on stage,’” she recalls. “I was already home taking care of myself during the awards ceremony. It was crazy. I was really shocked. But I was so very grateful…But I feel regretful that I wasn’t there because I never got to accept an award on the AVN stage. I missed an opportunity!” But that doesn’t mean the prolific performer won’t have chances in the future. In the latter part of the interview, Taylor told AVN that she is signing a contract once again with TransAngels, and that she has several major projects already in the works for the remainder of 2024. “I have a pretty big year coming,” she said. “Mostly, I want to continue to show what I have.” Taylor also said that she has a new scene from Brazzers coming out in the next few months, and she intends to continue collaborating with the TransAngels team. She was the first trans porn star ever to appear in a scene for Aylo mega-brand Brazzers in the spring of 2021. She also expressed her interest in shifting into a behind-the-scenes role. “I think it would be really cool to have some sort of production role,” Daisy said. “I would love to direct, write, and produce stuff.” But that will be in the future, and for Daisy, the future is bright. At the end of the interview, she gave the following proclamation: “I think it is pretty clear that trans porn is extremely mainstream—I would argue sometimes more mainstream than mainstream porn,” Taylor said when asked about whether trans porn’s rise in popularity will proceed. “It’s accessible and for everybody.” Photos 4-8 by Marcos Rivera
