Fresh Faces: Selena Ivy

LOS ANGELES—Selena Ivy remembers being intrigued with the idea of doing professional porn for many years before she actually got into it. “It was something that I really wanted to do for a long time but I was always too afraid to do it,” Ivy admits. But after five-plus years of pondering the possibilities the Georgia native decided to act in late 2022. “I was afraid going into it that I would have a bad experience and I would lose my passion for sex work, but I ended up doing a bunch of research and contacted some agencies,” Ivy says. Selena initially landed a meeting with the Spiegler Girls agency, which helped her with some of her early bookings, but she got most of her scenes on her own during her first several months in adult. Then she signed with Elite Talent a couple months ago after a referral from Spiegler.  “It was a daily grind to try and get the bookings that I did get, going to conventions and meeting people,” Ivy says. “And I’ve done a lot of content trades.” Her dedication paid off in the springtime when her bookings started picking up. By late 2023, Selena had done about 30-something scenes, many of which had yet to drop. And earlier this month she received an AVN nomination for Hottest Adult Newcomer for the Fan-Voted 2024 AVN Awards. “I really like it, I have a lot of fun with it,” Ivy tells AVN. “I genuinely enjoy the sex and knowing that I’m sharing that with people. I’ve always had a lot of passion and interest for sex work in the sense of the creation of it. So I really like seeing what comes of that and then seeing what it does for other people.” She says one of her favorite scenes so far was called “Kiss Me, I Squirt,” a St. Patrick’s Day-themed session with the notorious JMac for Reality Kings. Selena also enjoyed a step-sister themed hook-up with Johnny Love for Nubiles, which she reveals is her most popular outing to date because it’s also available for free on Pornhub. The energetic performer at press time told AVN she was looking forward to the release of her Lust Cinema threeway with Charlotte Sins and Hollywood Cash; and her VR encounter for SexLikeReal’s Deep in Sex with Jerry Kovacs. “And my Bang Bus scene is another favorite,” Ivy adds. “I had wanted to do it for a very long time and it was a blast. That was with Jonathan Jordan. He’s really sweet, too…I think that was my third scene, I was very new.” Ivy admits she watched a fair amount of porn when she was in high school and going into college, but because of her penchant for squirting while masturbating, things got a bit sticky. “I would watch it like I watch movies and it’s hard to masturbate on a whim because I squirt so much,” Selena jokes. “I would have to get out my waterproof blankets. It was a whole thing that I didn’t really have time for so I decided to stop watching it.” Selena explains that her squirting was something she was “really self conscious about” before porn. “No one I had been with had seen that before. Like it wasn’t a real-life thing. It was not something that felt normal,” Ivy says. Now she likes when someone wants to see her squirt. “It’s a kink thing,” Ivy says. “I get really turned on when I know that someone wants to see it.” Selena says she would like to go as far as she can in adult but she’s also taking things one day at a time, too. “I didn’t expect for me to even get this far,” she says. “I’m really just happy to be along for the ride, but I am very passionate. I do want the longevity. I really love the work and I want to do more.” Ivy at press time was still working as a dancer at the Pink Pony in Atlanta when she wasn’t in LA or Vegas shooting. “Of all the clubs that I’ve been to it’s my favorite one that I’ve worked at,” she says. “I’ve been there for a long time and I feel like they take good care of me. Everyone is really nice to each other and gets along and the management and house moms take really good care of us and that’s not always the case. “I feel very fortunate. It’s just a really nice club.” Selena also works part time as a nanny when she isn’t at the club. When she has occasional free time, there’s a chance she might be baking a cake. In fact Ivy decorated cakes at a bakery for years before she found sex work, utilizing her skills as an artist to apply the finishing touches. “And now I just kind of do it independently for friends if they want to get cakes for their birthday parties,” says Ivy, who used to sketch and do oil and acrylic painting with a particular affinity for landscapes. She came up with her memorable social media handle, @kiskcake, because it was her gamer tag for years on Twitch. Ivy reveals that kiska is a Russian pet name that means “little pussy.” “And all my friends and gaming pals would call me cake,” she adds. “Because one, I love cake, and I was doing the cake decorating,” Selena says. Ivy tells AVN if anything, the process of getting into porn turned out to be “a lot of harder than I expected.” “I think that’s probably the biggest surprise about it and I’m sure that has to do with OnlyFans and social media kind of being a big influence in how companies book,” she reasons. “But starting from absolutely nothing, not even OnlyFans and then trying to self book is very difficult. "I do I feel like I’ve met a lot of really good people and people who have been helping me out where they can. Networking is always beneficial.” She had been commuting to Florida, LA and Las Vegas to do scenes, but in December announced her plans to move to Sin City for more career opportunities.
