Pineapple Support Hosts Support Group for Sufferers of Burnout

The adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, Pineapple Support has launched a free online six-week support group, “Preventing and Recovering from Burnout” which focuses on helping performers deal with stress and fight the resulting burnout.

“Life can be stressful, often even more so for content creators,” says founder Leya Tanit. “This group will provide an accepting, compassionate space to share, connect, and get support to manage the stressors in your life. Burnout can affect everyone, so learning the signs to identify it, as well as strategies to overcome it will have concrete benefits for your mental health and wellbeing.”

Pineapple Support was founded by performer Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 12,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.

The online support group is free to attend and will begin on Tuesday, December 19th at 4pm EST for six weeks. Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place each Tuesday at the same time, except for holidays. It will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham.

“When we don’t process our stress, it can add up until we reach a state of burnout,” says Graham. “In this group, we’ll discuss research-based strategies for preventing burnout, as well as recovering from it, if you’re already there. Join us to learn how to build resilience and protect your wellbeing in a safe and accepting space.”
