Pineapple Support Launches Burnout Recovery Group for Talent |
LOS ANGELESâAdult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support will host a free, online support group starting next week with a focus on helping performers fight burnout. The six-week support group, "Preventing and Recovering From Burnout," will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham and will begin on Tuesday, December 19 at 4 p.m. ET. âWhen we donât process our stress, it can add up until we reach a state of burnout,â says Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham. "In this group, weâll discuss research-based strategies for preventing burnout, as well as recovering from it, if youâre already there. Join us to learn how to build resilience and protect your wellbeing in a safe and accepting space.â Pineapple Support was founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has connected over 12,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support. âLife can be stressful, often even more so for content creators,â says Tanit. âThis group will also provide an accepting, compassionate space to share, connect, and get support to manage the stressors in your life. Burnout can affect everyone, so learning the signs to identify it, as well as strategies to overcome it will have concrete benefits for your mental health and wellbeing.â "Preventing and Recovering From Burnout" sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at 4 p.m., except for holidays.
