Coming Together: Siri Dahl Talks Adult Time Ambassadorship

A version of this feature appears in the August issue of AVN magazine. Click here for the digital edition. LOS ANGELES—Siri tells AVN that representing Adult Time as a brand ambassador is “a dream come true." As one of the studio’s most versatile performers, Siri has shined in several collaborations with Chief Creative Office Bree Mills and Adult Time directors such as Michael Vegas, Siouxsie Q and Stella Smut during her ambassadorship. “I always knew I liked the idea of having a closer working relationship with a studio, but when I came out of retirement in 2020, the idea of a traditional ‘contract star’ wasn’t really a thing anymore,” Dahl explains. “So when Adult Time approached me about being a Brand Ambassador, it immediately felt like the right fit. In this era ruled by content creators, Adult Time recognizes that performers are our own brands—and the Ambassadorship is all about that collaboration, in my case between the Siri brand and the Adult Time brand.” Siri's recent outing for Adult Time's acclaimed "Ooposie!" series underscored that theme. During pre-production Dahl described the collab as “a cute, queer free-for-all."  “And it was inspired by my love of bright colors, carefree summertime vibes, and a celebration of the queer community which I’m so thrilled to see the mainstream porn industry embracing more and more every year,” Dahl said. The Adult Time Original Series features “outrageous situations and high-energy sex” with a lighthearted tone. It has become one of the studio’s most popular lines in the past year, so it’s only fitting that the seasoned performer counts her “Oopsie!” scene with Ariel Demure among her best. “Making the trailer/intro portion of the scene had us all rolling on the floor laughing as we were shooting it that day," she says. “I think we must have done seven or eight spit-takes of me with the soda cup! And the sex was insanely hot, too (obviously)!” The personable star, who did her first professional scene in February 2012 and now has more than 350 credits, is in the midst of her second year as an Adult Time Ambassador. Dahl says that Adult Time’s commitment to empowering talent aligns with her values and sensibilities. “The emphasis on performers’ individuality and comfort is a prominent shared value that we have. Early on when I met Bree Mills, we had so many engaging and enlightening conversations; I immediately felt a connection with her vision for the studio,” Siri says. “I also love the creativity Adult Time's series bring to the table, as well as the people I get to work with, from the folks at corporate to the directors, producers and crew members.” Siri points to the bi threesome she did with Wolf Hudson and Johnny Hill for The Yes List—a set in which she was accompanied by a documentary crew from Netflix—as another example of feeling empowered on an Adult Time shoot. “And I’m doubly proud that some of behind-the-scenes footage from that day made it into the Netflix documentary Money Shot that came out recently,” she continues. “... It really helped show the reality of the porn industry, especially how much we value on-set professionalism and consent discussions to a wider audience beyond typical porn viewers.” Meanwhile, Dahl embraced her role in the “Mommy’s Boy” scene she did with Ricky Spanish. “As a newcomer to the MILF genre, I’m having a ton of fun with step-mommy role-play scenarios,” Siri says. “Even though it was our first time ever working together, Ricky and I have great chemistry, and it really shines in that scene.” Dahl tells AVN she’s lived all over—but she is originally from Minneapolis. She spent her teenage years in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. “I definitely consider myself a Midwesterner more than a Texan,” she says. “When people ask me where home is, I always say ‘Minnesnowta!’” She worked in retail—a job she didn’t like—and also as a copy editor and writer before adult, which was something she loved. “Even though I was usually writing about boring subjects, it was still a lot of fun,” Siri says.Dahl reveals that she knew she wanted to get into the porn industry a few years before she actually did, when she was just starting college. “I got really into watching queer and lesbian porn scenes, and I couldn’t shake the thought that ‘I should do that, I’d be really good at that,’” Siri recalls. “So as soon as it made sense, I moved to LA and started making connections in the industry, and pretty quickly I had my first scene booked!” Now Siri says that she couldn’t have possibly made a better a choice with what she does for a living. “I love everything about it, really. I love the sexual freedom and the creative freedom, but more than anything I really love the people in this industry,” Dahl says. “I’ve had other careers and other jobs, and nothing compares. Whether I’m producing my own content or shooting on a studio set, I really love the people I get to work with and the friends I've made in this industry.” And now she has learned there there is “almost nothing that scares or intimidates me, and that I’m an incredibly resilient person.” “The experience of being a very well-known porn star, then retiring and being a ‘nobody’ for a few years before ultimately deciding to make a comeback, gave me a lot of perspective,” Siri continues. “It’s one of the reasons I’ve taken on more of an activist role in recent years. "I hate that there’s such a stigma around porn and sexuality in general. I want to be a resource for civilians who are curious about the world of porn, and I will always engage in honest dialogue, dispel myths, and advocate for the rights of workers and business owners in our industry.” When she isn’t on the set, Dahl loves to work out, whether it’s powerlifting, yoga or climbing the Stairmaster. She also likes cooking and baking and outdoor adventures such as kayaking, camping and hiking. “And playing video games, especially open world RPGs!” she adds.Siri got into powerlifting because a decade ago she used to hate doing cardio. “Ironically, I actually don’t mind it now and after researching different ways to get fit, I decided that strength training was the best option for me,” Dahl says. “After a few years of general strength training, I fully dove into powerlifting, and I’ve been a powerlifter for about seven years now.” She says this year she’s had to dial back her powerlifting for some unrelated health reasons, but “it will always be a part of my life, though.” “I’ve just had to train differently, so lately I’ve been enjoying more gentle training methods, like yoga, to stay active,” Siri says.As she ponders the rest of 2023, Dahl is looking forward to taking the rest of the year at a more leisurely pace after going full force during the first half. “I do have some really exciting projects in the works, but nothing I’m ready to tease out just yet,” she says. “You’ll just have to wait and see!” Photography courtesy of Adult Time
