Going High: Alexis Fawx Soars to New Heights in Adult |
This is the cover story of the August issue of AVN magazine. Click here for the digital edition. LOS ANGELESâAlexis Fawx popped the bottle of her signature wine for the first time this summer, savoring the taste that was two years in the making. The smooth, South African Malbec will be called Lilith Blood and feature a female demon squeezing grapes on the label. âItâs just fun,â Fawx says. âI made it in 2021. So it just now became ripe enough to drink. Itâs going to be even better in five years. Itâs even better as you let it sit. âWhy I did that is I thought it would be an amazing gift to my friends, family and ultimate fans who have supported me throughout the years.â Fawx tells AVN that support has been nothing short of incredible as she reflects on 13 years in adult entertainmentâshe celebrated her anniversary in July. The former paralegal went from answering a Craigslist ad in the summer of 2010 to becoming one of adultâs most prolific and versatile performers. Now the witty Air Force vet is an entrepreneur, podcast host, new homeowner, the two-time AVN MILF Performer of the Year and in her third year as an exclusive contract star for Brazzers. âItâs kind of crazy because when I started 13 years ago I had a different mindset and I had no idea where I was going to go and how it was going to transpire or what a great life it would be for me,â Fawx says. âIâve gotten so many positive things out of it.â Her hard work paid off in December 2022, when she closed on her first house in a suburb of Las Vegas. âHonestly, just knowing where Iâve come from until now and every single thing in between, I donât regret any of itâeven the hardest of times. I do not regret it,â Fawx says. âTheyâve made me who I am today. âSigning those papers and knowing that it was done within 30 days. I did something that I thought I maybe was never going to accomplish in my life, so that was really big for me. âIf I wouldâve stayed in those boring-ass office jobs, I would not be living the life I have today.â Born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania, Fawx grew up as a âpunk rock kidâ who liked to smoke weed, experiment with psychedelics and go on adventures. âI was a rebel without a cause, like âfuck you parentsâ and they werenât even mean to me,â she says with a laugh. âI was typical teenager angst. I mean I still kind of am with the boots and shit. But I just had that in me. I think Iâll always have that in me.â A âchameleonâ who often changed her look, Alexis reveals she once shaved her head, wore a mohawk and went through her âgoth stage.â Sometimes she would go to New York to party with other club kids. She saw the military as a way out of her small town. âI just felt suffocated there,â Fawx says. âThere was so much more to see, do, feel⦠And I didnât think that was going to happen there. âI wanted to broaden my horizons. The Air Force was just my stepping stone. I wanted to live on my own. I moved out of my house while I was still in high school.â Alexis considered each branch of the military before deciding to join the Air Force. âThe Air Force was just really more appealing to me than any other,â she says. âI just did it. I didnât tell my parents until after the fact.â Fawx completed basic training and then went to Air Force Tech School, graduating at the top of her class. âAnd that was the first time I was like getting straight Aâs,â she says. âI didnât apply myself in my high school. I found it boring. âI think the military was really good for me for instilling confidence, being able to make decisions logically, thinking things through a little better. âLogistics are my thing. I love planning. And it just really helped as a young person that needed it.â Fawx tells AVN she was stationed in North Dakota for the majority of her time in the Air Force and then she moved to Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., where she was discharged six months early because her father passed away and she had to help take care of her family. âAnd I was ready to be out,â says Alexis, who was enlisted for three-and-a-half years. âI felt like I got the foundation and what I wanted to get out of the military and I was ready to embark on my next adventure, which was, I wanted to go and be a college student.â She transferred from a college in North Dakota to Baltimore, where she studied at the University of Maryland before landing at Towson State. Fawx says even though her initial focus was Dietetics, she earned her degree from TSU in Physiological Psychology with a specialization in Neuroanatomy because her previous college didnât have a Dietetics program. âBasically, how the mind and body work together,â she says. Looking for more adventure after college, Fawx gravitated to Miami, where she worked as a paralegal for about six years, specializing in patents for inventions. Even though she became one of the top paralegals at the firm, she felt stuck. âBeing in an office environment I realized was not something I thrive in, being confined to a 9-to-5 and being told how to spend my days,â Alexis says. âAnd I also wasnât recognizing myself at that time period as a creative mind. I like to do things that occupy my imagination.â So she quit. And for the first time in her adult life, she needed a job. Fawx admits she enjoyed a lot of sex when she was on the military bases and then in college. âGirls and guys,â she says. âI loved it. I loved watching, I loved being watched. It was really open for me.â She was no stranger to watching porn, either, so when she saw the ad on Craigslist to be an extra for BangBrosâ notorious Dancing Bear series, she didnât hesitate. âI had seen so many. I was like, âYeah, of course I want to be an extra! I love watching live sex, this is fucking great,ââ Fawx recalls. âI went down by myself. I donât even know if I told any friends I was going down, I just went.â She got her hair and makeup done and before long the producers told the extras, âIf you want to make more money, you can do this, that or the other,â Fawx says. âThey were only doing a blowjob that day. So they were looking for girls to do blowjobs. I didnât even think twice⦠I was an adult already. I had been living on my own for a long time already. There wasnât a doubt.â She raised her hand immediately. âAnd then I thought about it afterward, like, âOh my god, what did I just sign up for? Iâm really going to do this,ââ Fawx jokes. âMy plan of action was I was just replaying all the sloppy blowjobs I saw.â When it came time for Fawxâs turn, she dove in head first. âIâve said this many times, there was a wonderful woman next to me and I wonder where she is now⦠She pumped me up, she was my hype man. She helped push my face in more,â Alexis says. âAll I know is I didnât want to take as long as the girl before meâbless her heart. âAnd BangBros loved it, so I was able to get booked for my first boy/girl the very next day.â That next day in Miami, Fawx went to the set of BangBrosâ MILF Soup 13, where she squared off with Johnny Champ. âIt went awesomeâin fact I squirted for the first time,â Alexis says. âIâve watched a lot of porn. I thought there was something wrong with me, like why doesnât mine do that? âNow Iâve learned some things. On-the-job experience⦠I remember I did that and I stopped. And the director was like, âNo, keep going!â I was all nervous. I thought I did something wrong.â Call it a sign of things to come. Fawx kept the momentum goingâand she got serious about her new career. In the ensuing months and years, Alexis tells AVN she made enormous strides with her physical, mental and spiritual health and now she has more than a thousand creditsânot to mention two AVN trophies for being the top MILF performer in the world, capturing the honors in 2020 and 2022. âItâs amazing to have accolades to show that your supporters, your peers, people in production, people that vote on that really looked at you that year and saw that you did your best,â Fawx says. âItâs fucking great. Itâs awesome. If you wouldâve asked me that 13 years ago, I wouldâve never dreamt that at all. To have that. To me I kind of equate the AVNs to like the Oscars.â While Fawx can count multiple appearances for every major studio in adult, excelling in both gonzo scenes and acting rolesâthere has been no other company that has placed her name on the call sheet more than Brazzers. The performer at press time had 111 scenes for ZZ alone. âAlexis has been a monumental force on Brazzers over the years and amassed an impressive body of work on the site,â a Brazzers rep tells AVN. âItâs been a pleasure to work exclusively with Alexisâshe is the kind of unique contract star that embodies the spirit of ZZ.â Fawx says one of the most memorable projects of her career came in early 2020 when she got to write the The Voyeur Next Doorâa four-part, ZZ production that took a deep dive into the sexual perversions of suburbia. âI felt really super listened to,â she says. âI felt there was an investment in my imagination and who I was as a talent. So I think that says a lot about a company.â She received nominations for Best Double-Penetration Sex Scene and Best Screenplay for the 2021 AVN Awards for the movie. That same year she starred in and wrote Unbound, a three-part series for ZZâs sister studio Digital Playground. In Unbound, Fawx plays a woman that lives a quiet lifestyle but has vivid erotic fantasies. When she stumbles across a magical book, sheâs able to make those fantasies a reality. âItâs funny because I came up with that in the shower on a Monday while listening to music,â Fawx confesses. On one day in mid-July, Fawx woke up at 5:30 a.m. and did Hot Yoga, hiked 7 miles and still made it to the Fully Loaded Comedy Festival later that evening. When sheâs not working out at the gym or performing, she might be tending her elaborate home garden or managing her boutique coffee brand, HAF Coffee. She also has her own brand of beer thatâs available at select spots in Las Vegas. Fawx created a full line of HAF Coffeeâwhich stands for High Altitude for Coffeeâintroducing teas, cold brew and cocoa. Originally called High AF coffeeâinspired by her long-running podcast âHigh As Fawx" that she co-hosts with her close friend Asian JoeâAlexis recently rebranded and made a new logo with the silhouette of a mountain. âWhat I learned with marketing is you really gotta make it super easy for people,â she says. âYou can find my coffee at a local place in Vegas called Khoury's Fine Wine & Spirits. What I like about it is theyâre a super local joint. âTheyâve got a great wine selection, a great range of microbrew beers, IPAs, double IPAs, sours. And you can get my coffee there; you can get my beer there. âI hold my parties there sometimes.â Meanwhile, Fawx does regular collabs with the local microbrewery Astronomy Ale Worksâher most popular creation so far is called Cheers to Breakfast. Available on tap or in cans, the beer is a Golden Ale with hints of coffee, vanilla and cinnamon from her HAF formula. âCheers to Breakfast has really hit it off,â Alexis says. âThey sell out of it all the time. So thatâs great news. I love that.â Fawx also collaborated on an Alexis Fawx Blonde Ale with Astronomy Ale Works. âItâs been a real pleasure to do collabs with him,â she says, referring to owner Matt Brady. Asian Joe, an industry go-to guy since 2010 who now is Fawxâs videographer, editor, podcast co-host and business partner, tells AVN sheâs a force of nature. âI think sheâs just a genuine person,â Asian Joe, who met Fawx on a Brazzers set in 2016 when he was working as a PA and extra, says. âShe speaks her mind. We always talk on our podcast about being true to yourself and not being fake. âWhen she goes on a set, sheâs very professional. She always wants to make sure everyone has a good time. âAs a production manager or PA, you see that. When you see someone actually enjoy being on set you want them back. âThatâs what makes her special and popular.â Fawx learned how to garden in Costa Rica, one of her favorite places to visit. âI love Central America just in general,â Alexis says. âI could see myself living there for the rest of my life.â She went to permaculture school in 2018, honing skills such as how to grow her own food âand work with the environment and nature and not work against it.â âItâs a flow state. Itâs like a moving meditation to go out in your garden,â says Fawx, who takes care of more than 100 house plants. âYouâre touching your hands with the grass and the soil and the dirt when youâre out in the garden. Itâs quite beautiful. And to see things youâve taken from a seed to this teenager plant to this full-grown, adult plantâgiving you fruits and vegetables because youâve given it loveâcreates this beautiful soil environment with the right microbes. âI fucking get into it. I love it.â She says during the lockdown of 2020, âit kept me good.â âCannabis is one of my favorite plants to grow,â Alexis continues. âWhen youâre growing it, it will tell you when it needs nutrients. It tells you when itâs thirsty. ⦠The plants communicate with their actions. For me it taught me how to grow other plants.â She adds, âAnd when you grow your own food it tastes so much better. I donât use any pesticides. Iâm all organic and natural.â Not only is she into gardening, she also likes weightlifting, yoga, boxing and archery. âI have a cheap bow and arrow,â Alexis jokes. âBut I would love a compound one thatâs on my [Amazon] wish list. I like the old-school bows, too.â Meanwhile, Fawx owns two Katanas and Kendo sticks and would like to learn swordsmanship, too. âThereâs a swordsmanship school in Vegas,â she says. âI would love to actually learn that. ⦠I love stealthy weapons.â Fawx's branding efforts even extend to the professional sports world. She sponsors unbeaten super bantamweight boxer Floyd "Cashflow" Diaz, who wears logos for Fawx's podcast and coffee on his fight gear. âI love supporting him. I love supporting his family. I love his story. Iâve had him on my podcast,â Alexis says. âMaybe Iâm just an underdog⦠But I love the mom-and-pop stories. His mom works really hard. His dadâs his coach. He eats and breathes boxing. He has such incredible drive. "Iâve seen boxing fights, but when you've invested into someone, man, does it make that fight so much more... oh my god, I was hitting my hands [during Floyd's fight]. I hit my hands so hard I thought I broke them." As Alexis looks ahead, she says she would like to focus on expanding her YouTube channel, doing more podcasts and promoting them in bigger ways. She also wants to shoot as much content as she can with creators from around the worldâboth safe-for-work and explicit. âThere are just so many avenues right now,â Fawx says, adding that diversifying is the key to longevity. âI always encourage that, especially if I get to work with a younger person thatâs newer in the industry. âI encourage them to build a brand, treat it as a business, love yourself, keep yourself healthy. And then get yourself to a point and expand on it. Find out what your passions are and make it work for you. Because then it never seems like work. âThatâs who Iâve grown into being. Thatâs why Iâm just as grateful for the times I slept on the couch because I didnât have a place to go. âPlay with life. Go scrape your knee, get a heartbreak, lose a job. Gain a job, gain a love, do all those things. âBe grateful.â Photography by Vice Intimate Portraiture & Veronika Vee Marx
