Pineapple Support Celebrates Fifth Anniversary |
Adult industry mental health nonprofit, Pineapple Support is celebrating its fifth anniversary by announcing a significant milestone: the organization has now connected over 10,000 adult performers with mental health and emotional support services. âWhen we launched Pineapple Support in 2018, it was with the incredible hope that we could at least help a small sector of the industry,â says Leya Tanit, founder and CEO of Pineapple Support. âTo look back five years later on 10,000 lives touched is moving and sobering. We still have a long way to go, but weâre ever closer to ensuring that no performer feels like they have to struggle alone.” Pineapple Support was founded by Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, connects adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support. âThe platforms, people, organizations, and outlets that have supported us are truly responsible for this milestone, and my heartfelt thanks go out to them, as well as the incredibly talented therapists we work with,” says Tanit. “We’re proud of what weâve accomplished and are working hard to launch more initiatives, support groups, webinars, events, and campaigns over the coming months. I hope more people will join us in building a safer, healthier, more supportive industry. ” Pineapple Support has between 300-400 performers using its resources at any one time and works with more than 370 therapists globally.
