In Rey’s feature profile for the nightlife monthly, industry scribe and critic Moutasem Seyam a.k.a. Mutant Mo writes, “Alison Rey has been in the adult industry since 2014 so she was the perfect person to ask about the definition of an ‘industry veteran.’ At only twenty-seven years old she’s accomplished so much with no plans at stopping anytime soon. This is echoed by a decorated catalog of work.” Rey tells the writer, “A veteran is quite literally defined as ‘a person who has had long experience in a particular field.’ So, since I’ve been in mainstream porn for nearly a decade, I would definitely consider myself a veteran, especially when you consider that most 18-year-olds that enter the adult film industry quit after a year or two. If I were posting titillating content or truly violating their community guidelines, I would have accepted the ban, as it would have been my fault for taking the risk of posting less-than-wholesome content. However, since they banned me, seemingly because of my name alone, it took quite a toll on my mental health.
