Marica Hase on Starring in Adult Time’s Women’s World

In August, Adult Time, the popular streamer with over 300 channels, launched Anatomik’s Women’s World – an anthology lesbian film which found its inspiration in mainstream rom coms out there like Love Actually and Crazy Stupid Love.

The gist of the series is a humorous fish out of water story where all the men in the world have changed into women overnight. Only a handful of people seem to realize or remember. As the film progresses, the audience takes a journey with several loosely connected protagonists as they explore how this new reality has changed their lives – for the sexier.

What’s great about the series, is it highlights a revolving roster of topnotch stars like Marica Hase, the former Japanese mainstream actress that found her calling in the adult industry.

Hase joined in on the fun of the series in the 4^th episode where she played Sofia, “a woman who’s having issues with her husband—she’s not looking for other options, but when all the men disappear, she realizes what she’s really looking for is a woman.”

YNOT was able to sit down and speak with Hase about what it has been like working with a top-notch streamer like Adult Time and how she’s traversed the waters as a Japanese speaker in an English-speaking world.

How did you get your start?

I was a mainstream model/actress in Japan. I really love being in front of the camera, so I found an audition to become an exclusive girl with one of the biggest Japanese studios, Cinderella Audition. The winner got many opportunities like TV shoots, magazine shoots, and more besides porn.

So, I went to the audition and won, and that’s how I started as a porn star.

What has your life been like since leaving your country to pursue the adult industry in the USA? How does it differ here?

It’s challenging and fun! Everything is different compared to Japan. So, I never get bored, but sometimes I get frustrated.

Did you audition for Women’s World or were you tapped to play the part? And how did you celebrate when you knew you got the role?

I didn’t audition for the part—they booked me. I didn’t celebrate because I had no time. I love acting, but that comes with big scripts, and it takes me forever to learn a script. My English skills are improving, but there are still many new words. Also, expressions are very different between Japanese and American actors.

What was it like working for Adult Time, the cast and directors?

I’ve worked with the director and crew before for Adult Time, so I was completely relaxed. And the cast was so lovely to me. I had a great time on set!

What do you admire about the film and what do you think its strongest points are?

There are so many different characters and nationalities in the movie, and whether you’re an actor in the film or watching it as a fan, you can find someone to empathize with.

What can film companies do to help make actors feel comfortable on set?

Well, for me it’s my English skills. All the companies know they’re limited. So, they always say to me, “take your time,” and wait for me until I’m ready. It really makes a huge difference not to feel pressured so I can do my best.

Are there any similarities between you and the character you play in the film?

I have a green card, but getting it wasn’t easy. So, I understand why my character, Sofia, had to do a fake marriage to get hers.

You’re a survivor of Cancer, how has that changed your outlook on the business and life?

I’m still on medication; the medicine is very strong and has many side effects. I’m still not cured, and the cancer could come back. So, I’m happy to be mostly healed and appreciate all the little things in life.

What are your goals for the next five years?

I love being in front of the camera, and that’s where I want to stay. I hope to grow my YouTube Channel youtube.com/c/MaricaHaseOfficialChannel even more and get more subscribers.
