Pineapple Support to Host Support Group Exploring Complex PTSD |
LOS ANGELES â Pineapple Support, the adult industryâs leading mental health nonprofit, will host a free, online support group focusing on complex PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). The six-week support group, âComplex PTSD: Exploring and Understanding Attachment Traumaâ will be led by Pineapple therapist Alex Zoloto and will begin on Monday, November 7th at 7 p.m. ET. âIf you struggle to fit in, feel hopeless or lonely, grapple with relationships, or engage in harmful or risky behaviors, this group may be for you,â says Pineapple therapist Alex Zoloto. âThe group will explore the origins of complex PTSD and will help to guide participants on where to go next. Weâll help you to implement the skills to begin coping and healing.â Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organization, which is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has so far connected over 8,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling, and emotional support. âIn this six-week group, weâll explore complex PTSD and help you to understand what it is and how it differs from more traditional definitions of PTSD,â says Tanit. "Alex has helped many people that have struggled with trauma to regain hope and become the best version of themselves. He will use a trauma-focused approach to help you get to know yourself againâor maybe even for the first time.â Sessions will last for around 1.5 hours and will take place online each Monday at the same time until December 12th.
