Instagram Deletes Pornhub's 2nd Account as Part of Permanent Ban

LOS ANGELES—Instagram has deleted an account set up by Pornhub nearly two months after the social media site deleted the streaming service’s @pornhub account as part of a permanent ban, according to a report by Variety. In an Oct. 18 tweet, Pornhub wrote, “We are BACK on Instagram with our new official account : p.hub.forever ??” But today, the account was removed. Reps for Meta, the parent company of Instagram, did not respond to a media request for comment about the removal of Pornhub’s second account. A Meta spokesperson had previously said that Pornhub repeatedly violated Instagram’s community guidelines, including a ban on sexual solicitation over the course of more than 10 years. Meta said that the violations accumulated to the point where Pornhub’s Instagram account was permanently shut down. In September, Pornhub and some of its adult industry allies released an open letter accusing Instagram of a double standard for banning Pornhub while it allowed celebrities like Kim Kardashian to post photos that included nudity.
