Whoopi Goldberg's Granddaughter Shouts Out AVN on 'Claim to Fame' |
HOLLYWOODâOscar-winner Whoopi Goldberg's granddaughter Amarah Dean, who is one of the cast members of new ABC reality series Claim to Fame, threw out a nod to the AVN Awards during a game of "two truths and a lie" in the series' debut episode Monday night. The show, co-hosted by eldest and youngest Jonas brothers Kevin and Frankie, pits 12 celebrity relatives against each other in a competition to "step outside their famous family member's shadow and live together under one roof, concealing their identity and lineage in the quest for their own fame and fortune," as People magazine reported. In the series opener, during her turn in the aforementioned "two truths and a lie" session, Dean offered the following three points of information about her famed matriarch: "My famous relative is my grandmother, she's best known for being an actor, and her biggest award is an AVN. "And for those who don't know," she continued, "it's an adult film award." While no, Goldberg does not have an AVN trophy to her name, she's not quite a stranger to adult either; her brushes with the industry include writing the foreword to AVN Hall of Famer Richard Pacheco's 2014 memoir Hindsight: True Love & Mischief in the Golden Age of Pornâhaving been a longtime friend and neighbor to Pacheco (aka Howie Gordon)âand giving commentary in AVN founder Paul Fishbein's 2016 documentary The Greatest Adult Stars of All Time.
