From Australia With Love: Savannah Bond Makes Her Mark in L.A.

LOS ANGELES—Savannah Bond returned from Australia last summer with plans to live in L.A. and immerse herself in the epicenter of adult entertainment. Twelve months later, her decision to reside in Porn Valley full time could not have turned out much better. Not only has Bond gone without any extended breaks since she came back, the Spiegler Girl has proven she belongs in the conversation about the top performers working in the industry today. “It takes a lot of dedication and hard work and always making sure you’re healthy physically and mentally,” Bond says. “I just love it. I think if you have a job that you love, you don’t have to take a break.” Bond at press time had more than 50 credits in 2022 alone—including several buzz-worthy outings—with dozens more scenes on the way this summer in what has turned into a breakout year for the former exotic dancer from Melbourne. “I think a huge part of it is I do naturally love it, so it’s not like you train yourself to like it,” Bond continues. “It does come naturally and it feels like the right thing—that’s first and foremost. And then just having a good support network and balance of work. “I don’t work every single day. I work three times a week, maybe four max. And I make sure I’m doing regular stuff, too, not always just working. I go to the gym, I workout, I eat really healthy. I don’t do drugs. I think that’s what holds everything together.” Call it being a pro. Her agent Mark Spiegler, who has represented seven of the past nine AVN Female Performer of the Year winners, tells AVN that Bond possesses all the qualities of an emerging superstar. “She’s having a great year overall,” Spiegler says. “She’s worked for pretty much everybody—from Brazzers to Vixen to Evil Angel, with plenty here to come, too. “She is super professional. Everybody really likes her and she’s a great performer.” Spiegler, who has introduced Savannah to classic American cuisine such as a hot dog at Carney’s, a cheeseburger at In-N-Out and a Chick-fil-A sandwich, explains that she is “very classy and at the same time very dirty.” “She’s like very well mannered,” the porn super agent continues. "I’d like to point out that just like Asa [Akira] or Riley [Reid] or Angela [White], she’s really a nice, polite person and I think that also goes a long way toward making a career. “Besides wanting to hire a good performer, people also want what I call the Riley Reid syndrome. They want to hire the girl that has good vibes on the set.  “And as I used to always say, she’s a dirty, filthy whore in all the right ways—and I mean that in the most loving way possible.” Bond made her porn debut in February 2019, when she traveled to L.A. to shoot for AVN Hall of Fame producer/director Jules Jordan, whom she had been talking to on Instagram for more than a year. During that first trip she stayed for two months, shooting only for Jordan. She did her first-ever sex scene with the six-time AVN Male Performer of the Year Manuel Ferrara in a movie called Thick for Jules Jordan Video. By the end of 2019 Bond had made two trips to California and had accumulated more than 30 credits—and word had gotten around that she was someone with enormous potential. “I haven’t changed as a performer,” Savannah says. “I may have evolved but it’s all been pretty natural. I didn’t really change anything drastic. Although I critique myself, I think it’s important to always be yourself. That’s what is going to bring you longevity.” AVN Hall of Fame producer/director Jonni Darkko knows Bond’s tendencies as well as anyone. He called the shots for her first star showcase, Savannah Bond Beach Bikini Slut, a Darkko Productions/Evil Angel release that led to her first AVN Award in January for Best Blowbang Scene. Bond devoured Air Thugger, Alex Jones, Alex Mack, Lucas Frost and Scotty P. on her way to AVN gold. “She’s a blast to have on set,” Darkko tells AVN. “She always comes in and kills it. She’s always put-together and looks amazing and pretty open to anything. “And we’re going to see a lot more of her. She’s just now really hitting her stride. She’s one of a kind. There is no one that looks like her, not even close. She’s amazingly beautiful and just fun to shoot.” Bond navigated the pandemic with relative ease, maintaining her social media presence and posting new hardcore updates with fellow Australian performers on her OnlyFans while she was living in Queensland, where she moved from Melbourne. “I enjoyed the Covid period. I didn’t mind it,” Savannah recalls. “It was like a break. I didn’t find it hard. “I had been planning to get back to the U.S. as soon as I could but I was waiting for the border to open between Australia and the U.S. I was nervous because I was moving countries by myself. I wouldn’t say it was overwhelming—I’m pretty laid back—but it was a lot to do by myself. It was exciting because I waited all year to get back. “I organized everything before I left the country, so I signed my lease in the U.S. and just took everything I could fit into two suitcases and got rid of all my other stuff.” Now she already has fallen for the City of Angels. “I do love L.A. because it has a lot to offer in regards to the scenery—from the cities to the beaches,” she says. “There is always something to do and you don’t really get bored. l love how busy I am here compared to Australia, but Australia is home. “I love everything about Australia, all the different places. But I’m excited to spend this period of my life here and have the option of doing what I do.” Bond recalls how she was always loyal to all her jobs before adult. She studied beauty therapy in Melbourne, getting a job at a skincare and makeup counter at a mall. Then she managed the cosmetics section at a pharmacy. But it was when she was at the pharmacy six years ago that she realized she wanted to change her career path. She had just finished recovering from getting her boobs done and it was her first day back at work. “I just felt like a different person. I was so over it and bored. I thought, imagine if I just left on my lunch break and never came back. And I was like, no, I can’t do that. It was getting close to 1 o’clock and I thought, well, actually I could. And I just walked out on my break,” Bond says. “It was kind of like a movie, like one of those crazy things that you’d never really think you would do, but I did and I’m so glad I did.” That same week she left the pharmacy she applied at a strip club that she wanted to work at called Goldfingers. “I’d always thought about stripping since I was really young, but I never did it because I had boyfriends that didn’t want me to. I lived more of a normal life and tried to do regular jobs. But then I thought that I’m just going to do it. I had been thinking about it for so long,” Bond continues. She admits there were some nerves doings those initial shifts at Goldfingers, a totally nude club in Melbourne. "I was definitely very nervous,” she says. “I just didn’t know. Well, I knew what to expect but I thought, am I going to be able to do it? It ended up going really well and I felt comfortable and just kept working. I just worked every weekend and took the weekdays off.”  Then she took her dancing talents to Kings Cross, a suburb in Sydney, Australia, and started working at Showgirls. “Which was my favorite. It was just more fun,” Bond says. “The club in Melbourne was more of a gentlemen’s club, more chilled out. The ones in Sydney people come in on weekends and are more upbeat. … It was just a fun period.” She says some of her friends she made at the club have followed her career. “There are some strippers that I have stayed in contact with so they got to see me evolve from doing that to doing porn,” Bond tells AVN. “I would always tell them I really want to go to L.A. and shoot porn.” Just about all of Savannah’s major porn firsts have come with Jules Jordan Video, including her first anal scene, courtesy of 2018 AVN Male Performer of the Year Markus Dupree; and her first double-penetration scene with Dupree and Jordan that appears in the 17th volume of his classic series Ass Worship. So it only made sense that in May Jordan released the first gangbang of Bond's career. The “Gangbang of Savannah Bond” features her taking on Mick Blue, Alex Jones, Alex Mack, Jax Slayher, John Strong and Rob Piper—and included her first double-vaginal penetration. “I kind of treated it like any other scene,” Bond says. “I was excited and I just wanted to make sure that everything went well and that it would be all that I wanted it to be. But I was really lucky to have really good performers and they all worked so well together and the day flowed so perfectly. “I wasn’t worried. I was confident in everyone that was there.” She had good reason to be with the likes of three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year Mick Blue on the set for starters. One of the busiest men in porn, Blue says when Jordan called to ask him to join the gangbang, “I couldn’t resist.” “She’s a great performer, so it was an honor to do it,” Blue, who also drilled Bond in a Tushy scene that debuted last summer and in a threeway for Brazzers along with Luna Star, tells AVN. “First of all, she looks beautiful and what is very sexy on her is the Australian accent. You can’t pass on that, so that increases her hotness level already at least by 30 percent when she starts talking. “And then besides that she’s really growing as a performer. Like when I did the Tushy scene with her it was very exciting and she worked very well and I think we did a very good scene together. But comparing her performance when we did the gangbang versus the scene we did for Tushy, overall it was a huge improvement in every aspect for her as a performer I would say. “As far as knowing what’s going on, knowing the right things to say, the whole package was so upgraded. That’s why I’m not surprised that Jules shot the gangbang with her because he has a really good hand for picking the right women at the right time. “Props to her for coming all the way from Australia to the U.S. and making a great name for herself.” Anton Harden agrees. The reigning AVN Best Male Newcomer has squared off with Bond twice, first laying down the lumber for Deeper in a scene called “Whatever She Wants” that was released in January. And then he tangoed with Bond again in “High Gear”—the balls-to-the-wall, 18-person orgy for Blacked Raw that came out in June. “She’s awesome,” Harden tells AVN. “She’s really a great performer and a great actress, too. I just like working with her a lot.” Harden says he actually was a late replacement for the Deeper scene. “They called me like last minute and said, ‘Do you wanna shoot with Savannah Bond?’” he recalls. “I was extremely lucky to have worked with her that day.” During the gangbang, Harden and Bond were paired together for a lot of the festivities. “Everybody was doing everything to everybody, but I did work with her mostly during the scene and it was pretty preferable,” Harden admits. “She’s just hot and amazing.” Veteran stud Isiah Maxwell also took Bond for a spin at the orgy in addition to getting down with her for CherryPimps. “It’s so amazing how much Savannah has accomplished in such a short amount of time here,” Maxwell tells AVN. “It’s honestly hard to keep up with her because she's always seemingly on to the next big-name project. It makes me a true admirer of her work ethic.” Speaking of admirers, Bond did enough to impress AVN Hall of Fame producer/performers Francesca Le and Mark Wood, who chose her for the box cover for their movie Anal Fabulous 2, the LeWood/Evil Angel release that came out in January. “I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Savannah,” Francesca Le tells AVN. “She’s amazingly beautiful and was just an amazing performer as well. I see big things happening for her. The camera loves her, so instantly I knew I had to make her the box cover for Anal Fabulous 2.” Mark Wood tells AVN, “She is built for the business.” “Her personality, professionalism, and that beautiful Australian accent are going to keep fans happy for a long time,” Wood adds. Fellow Hall of Fame shooter Mason—the 2015 AVN Director of the Year—saw Bond’s talent up close during a car wash-themed tease and anal scene with Zac Wild for Hard X, giving her the box cover for Hot Bodies 4 that was released in February. In short, Mason tells AVN, ”Savannah is the total package.” “She stands out from the crowd with her impeccable body, her desire to go the distance, and her insatiable appetite for sex,” Mason continues. “She is a director's dream. When she’s on your set you know you'll capture something you'll be proud to deliver to the fans.” Bond says being in the adult business has taught her a lot. “I would say that I’ve learned how much of a strong, independent person I am, especially moving countries and being away from my family,” she says. “Because I think it takes a lot more than people think to be able to be in the industry. “Not that it’s hard, but there are so many different skills that you don’t realize that go into it.” Photography by @lux_shooter & @mrchanchui
