GoFundMe Started to Help MojoHostâs Rommel Suganob Fight Cancer |
MojoHost President Brad Mitchell has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Rommel Suganob, a MojoHost employee in the Philippines who has been with the company since 2008, fight against recently diagnosed stage 3 rectal cancer. “I believe this is a battle we can win together,” Mitchell said in a statement issued Friday morning. “Rommel is such a good, worthy person. His kind spirit, family values and relentless work ethic has made him such a gift to everyone he knows. Rommel is my longest employed colleague at MojoHost still with us, having started his journey of Good Mojo in October of 2008. “We will do everything we can to see this through together, his family and mine greatly appreciate any assistance you can lend to this effort,” Mitchell added. “We have researched and vetted everything fully to ascertain that he receives the best medical care possible.” The goal of the campaign is to raise $40,000, with just over $22,000 raised at the time of this post’s publication. According to the information provided on the GoFundMe campaign page, “Rommel and his wife were able to cover the cost of the diagnosis and the first phase of treatment with their limited savings,” but with those savings now exhausted by Phase 1 of the treatment plan, the couple needs help to continue the fight. Rommel’s doctors have estimated a cost of $41,000 for the remaining course of treatment.
