Fresh Faces: Luna Mills

LOS ANGELES — Some adult performers work for years without receiving an AVN nomination, but Luna Mills didn’t have to wait long at all. The promising new starlet from Kansas earned her first nomination for the 2022 AVN Awards for her virtual reality-style performance for SexLikeReal alongside Vina Sky, Alexia Anders, Alona Bloom and Lulu Chu—who joined forces to take on John Strong. “It was really good, everyone was just pumping each other up on set,” Mills, who is Vietnamese and Cambodian with natural 32DDs, tells AVN. “Everyone was really nice and respecting each other’s boundaries and just trying to help each other out. “It took about 12 hours to shoot it—it took a really long time, but we all kept really good energy. “I filmed that scene when I was 18 and I’m 19 right now… I know a lot of people don’t really get nominated for AVN’s—even being in the industry for years and years and being wonderful performers. So I just thought it was really very special.” Represented by Matt Morgia of SoCal Models, Luna has more than 40 credits since her debut in the summer of 2020, including scenes for Naughty America, Team Skeet, Hustler Video, Anal4k and AllAnal. “I always try to bring up ideas for shoots,” Mills says. “I always to try do more—like try to see if male talent can go in between my tits—I just want to put on a show and have fun.” An honors student in high school who participated in debate and student council, Mills started an OnlyFans account about a week after her 18th birthday in early July 2020. “I have really big boobs and I’m Asian, that’s something,” she says was her thinking at the time. She wasn’t wrong. In her first week on OnlyFans, she made about $2000. “I thought this is really cool, I didn’t think anyone would notice,” Luna recalls. “I just promoted it on my Twitter at the time—my personal account. I switched over to a more not-safe-for-work account.” It was less than two weeks later that Morgia reached out to her on Twitter to gauge her interest in professional adult work. “It took me a while to decide,” Mills says. “I wasn’t sure where everything was going with Covid really. I was thinking this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—and my life could change… I was just still living with my parents, just working at a grocery store.” It was mid-July 2020 when she did her first shoot for NetVideoGirls—with Tyler D. in Las Vegas. “I thought he was really nice and really sweet. I worked with him again for his website,” Luna says. “I was really nervous and I just said, ‘OK, let’s do it, I’m already here, let’s do it.’ It’s a lot different than how I feel now. Now I’m like it’s just a camera, you can just look into it, it’s whatever the director wants you to do, you’re fine. I don’t have those feelings of nervousness of how it’s going to go anymore.” She adds, “The next day they brought me back for a girl/girl [with Madi Laine].” Mills says says she had one boyfriend before porn in addition to a few hookups, but she realized “it’s really hard to find people that just want to fuck in Kansas.” “At first I was still living in Kansas and flying out for two weeks at a time and then I moved to Vegas [in March],” she continues. “It’s been easier for me to book and do things. And I feel like the attitude about sex work is no one really cares in Nevada.” She is especially proud of her work for Naughty America and Team Skeet’s SisLovesMe site—for which she had a POV encounter with Donnie Rock. “That scene has 3 million views on XVideos,” she says. “It was a POV. We did two scenes that day. “What also made me think I nailed it was I was laying down while he was throat-fucking me for a while. That was really fun and looked really fun when it came out.” She enjoyed her first scene for Naughty America in part because of the director Shelby Black. “He was so nice as a director and Alex Jett was my male talent,” Luna says. “I just felt like the work that Shelby did with me was really phenomenal. Everything I did on set was really fun. I had my legs behind my head for the first time.” She also shot with Donny Sins under the direction of B. Skow for Naughty America. Mills already has a few anal scenes on her resume—her first was for Anal4K with Connor Kennedy. “I think they’re fun. I would definitely come back again but I don’t really do anal in my personal life,” she says. “It needs to be worked on a little bit more. The first time I did anal it was on camera.” Now a resident of Las Vegas, Mills recently shot with Clark Kent in a scene called “Swapped for a Younger Lover” for Adult Time under the direction of Jim Powers. “I think it went well. Everyone was really nice on set,” Luna says. When she isn’t working, she sometimes does oil paintings. “I do portraits of people and I’ve worked with acrylic paints before but I moved to oil and different mediums like chalk and pastels. I find it more fun and can work with the art more,” Mills explains. “Because I feel like art is a process. I can create something beautiful even if it doesn’t come in a day.” She continues, “I’ve been drawing for a long time. I’ve always found arts and crafts fun. … I’ve painted my friend Anna before in oil. It’s still in progress. I also painted Lil Peep and Lana Del Rey.” Mills also finds time to cook Asian-inspired dishes, pasta and bake different kinds of bread. She often plays video games on her Nintendo Switch. “I’m currently on [Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.] I die a lot, but it is what it is,” Luna jokes. “I like listening to music… I like watching documentaries about different things. Lately, I’ve been fascinated by uncontacted tribes like people on North Sentinel Island to see their different ways of life. I like learning more about people. I listen to podcasts sometimes.” As she looks ahead, Luna says she would love to work with Jules Jordan and Bree Mills. “I just haven’t met a female director yet, and I know both Holly Randall and Bree Mills do a wonderful job,” she says. “With the industry, I want to do my best and make myself into the best person I can be.” She also someday wouldn’t mind collaborating with three-time AVN Female Performer of the Year Angela White. “I think a lot of people’s dream is to work with Angela White and I’m one of those people,” Mills says with a laugh. “I would love to work with Angela White and Violet Myers one day. I want to work with anyone with a great attitude.”
