GoFundMe Launched to Aid Cybersocketâs Tim Lutz in Cancer Fight |
CYBERSPACEâTim Lutz has spent the past 24 years of his life as a digital publisher of LGBT content and co-owner of Cybersocket, Inc. As important as those years and that work have been to him, theyâre nothing compared to the challenges he is facing now. Near the end of November 2020, Lutz was diagnosed with a malignant, methylated glioblastoma. Accounting for 45 percent of all malignant brain cancers and with a heart-breaking 95 percent fatality rate, Senators John McCain and Edward Kennedy each suffered with and were felled by the disease. Lutz is determined to become one of the five percent survivor club, and is employing a positive spiritual mindset, undergoing chemo and radiation therapies, and exploring innovative treatments and technologies. According to Cybersocket business partner Morgan Sommer, âTim and I started Cybersocket together in January 1997 shortly after we had started dating. We ended the personal relationship over 10 years ago but have remained good business partners and friends. With Timâs shocking diagnosis last November, we have had to make some organizational changes so that Tim can focus 100 percent of his attention on recovery. He is stubborn, spiritually grounded, and determined. If anyone can beat the odds, itâs Tim.â Although Lutz has insurance, out-of-pocket expenses have been increasing. Those who would like to lend a financial hand can visit the GoFundMe page an old college friend of his has set up. Learn more about his progress on CaringBridge.org.
