R-Rated Version of 'Mirror Game' Is Now Available on Amazon |
BOSTONâThe R-rated version of Mirror Game, the critically-acclaimed erotic thriller from film director and Sssh.com founder Angie Rowntree, is now available on Amazon. The original version is available through Sssh.com. The film, which stars June Ann and Rob Gadling and is up for three AVN Awards, including Best Featurette, has been hailed by reviewers for its strong plot, keen use of symbolism and ambitious storytelling. As Rich Moreland, author of Pornography Feminism: As Powerful as She Wants to Be, said: âMirror Game - It doesn't get better than this.â The R-Rated version of Mirror Game has been embraced by many mainstream festivals, including IndieX Film Fest (part of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival) where the film won for Best Director, Outstanding Achievement: Mystery Short, Best Acting Duo, Best Original Score, Best Production Design and Best Set Design. âI endeavor to create films which are augmented by the sexually explicit material within them, but which also stand up as great stories, regardless of how explicit the sex scenes might be,â Rowntree said. âThanks in large part to the amazing performances turned in by June and Rob, Mirror Game definitely reached that goal.â Mirror Game also took home the award for Best Erotic Feature Film of the Year at the Dreamachine International Film Festival - Annual Edition, and Best Adult or Erotic Short Film at the International Shorts festival. The film also garnered an Outstanding Achievement Award (Mystery Short) at the Indie Short Fest. Other wins include: Best Fantasy Short and Original Score at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Honorable Mention in the Fantasy category at the New York Movie Awards, and was awarded Best Fantasy Short at the Paris Film Festival, where it was also a runner up in the Best Production Design category. Europe Film Festival presented Mirror Game with Best Visual Effects, the Independent Shorts Awards awarded the film with Best Fantasy Short. In addition, Mirror Game won Best Fantasy Short at Cannes Silk Road Film Awards. Mirror Game is also a finalist in the Featurette category at AltFest and is an official selection at the Queen Palm International Film Festival, Venice Film Awards, as well as the Chicago Indie Film Festival. The movie follows the story of Giselle Korba (June Ann), a woman in the process of having her life uprooted when her husband Michael (Gadling) accepts a new job in another part of the country. Upon arrival in their new home, an increasingly dissatisfied Giselle happens across an old book in a local bookstore â one the proprietress of the bookstore warns Giselle against buying, presaging trouble to come. The film also features a soundtrack (available now through iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify) composed by Roland Moralis, whose compositions Rowntree said âcontribute immensely to the filmâs tension and drama."
