Rebecca More, Sophie Anderson Debut New Reality Show âSlag Warsâ |
LOS ANGELESâBritish adult industry performers Rebecca More and Sophie Anderson have branded themselves âCock Destroyers,â and in November the pair debutec a new online reality show, Slag Wars, in which they attempt to find âthe next destroyer.â But despite the outrageous title and premise, the show is already being described by The Daily Beast as âsurprisingly touching, and one of the most sincere depictions of sex positivity and diversity seen on reality television.â Following a format similar to the more mainstream Ru Paulâs Drag Race, the show is a competition, with the cast of contestants consisting of âseven queer sex workers, models, performers and content creators,â according to a report by Yahoo! News. Though most of the cast members are experienced in the sex industry, the lone exception is Scottish retail worker Kevin Scott, whose main qualification is that he is an ardent Cock Destroyers fan, according to The Daily Beast. The cast is a diverse one both ethnically, and in terms of gender identity. Contestant Tyreece Nye told Yahoo! News, âI identify as Tyreece. Just because Iâm male presenting, people have often forced their ideologies that Iâm NOT non-binary. Representation is what we need in our community and Iâm proud to be a non-binary, queer POC involved in such a fun sex-positive show that highlights our work.â The cast also includes trans model Nicky Monet, who told Yahoo!, âmy mouthâs as big as my â personality. Iâve performed on stages all over the world and Iâm ready to give a showgirlâs touch to Slag Wars. Iâm trans, Iâm proud, and Iâve lived through it all, so Iâm not planning on going down without a fight.â âFor me, there hasnât been any other show that has shown the trans community, the non-binary community, like Slag Wars,â Anderson told The Daily Beast. The show is a real ambassador for other shows to take on this. All shows have a responsibility.â Even though showâs title is intended to break down barriers. While the term âslagâ is usually a derisive one, More was quoted by the British site Attitude saying, "weâre reclaiming the word âslagâ to celebrate sex-positivity.â The show is scheduled stream online for free starting on November 27, and may be accessed via SlagWars.com,  which features a âsafe for workâ landing page.
