Gay Porn Fans Vote More than Anybody Else, Says xHamster Survey

Fans of gay and gay-adjacent porn are way more likely to vote than…like…anybody. 

Or at least, that’s what xHamster, an adult tube site that surveyed over six and a half thousand of its American visitors “about porn habits and politics,” told Gay Star News.

The general population of the United States votes at a rate of about 60% during normal election cycles. But, according to the data xHamster collected, a whopping 92.2% of self-reporting gay male porn fans said they’d be voting in this general election—beating the national average by over 30%. Cuckold porn viewers were right on their tails, with 91.9% saying they’d do their civic duty. And bi porn fans were not far behind: 90.6% said they were eager to stuff the ballot box this year.

With the race so close that several states are still painstakingly counting votes, these smut consumers’ voting habits could be significant. As Gay Star News reported, “Because gay, cuckold and bi porn lovers are more likely to skew to the left, their willingness to vote could be good news for Joe Biden and the Democrats.”

But the left-leaning tendences of gay and gay-ish content fans might be evened out by MILF fans, of whom 90.1% said they planned to vote—and who “are far more likely to back the Republicans,” according to Gay Star News. Given that MILF fans are more likely to identify as straight, and that there are a lot more heterosexual-identifying people in the U.S. than gay, the MILF fans might have an overall numerical advantage.

Whatever the case may be, the data indicated, wrote Gay Star News, “Porn uses are as likely to be conservative as they are liberal or progressive. And most users fall between those two camps.” 

No matter their party affiliation, however, xHamster’s survey said that smut consumers are more likely to vote, overall, than the general population. A full 88% of all eligible survey respondents said they’d either already voted or planned to. 

Of course, xHamster is a for-profit tube site, and their data-gathering methods aren’t exactly the most rigorous. Still, the numbers are interesting—and could be useful to political candidates in the future. 

“We have over 120 million US visitors a month, 95% of whom are citizens and eligible to vote. They’re incredibly politically engaged, but no one is paying attention to them,” Vice president of xHamster Corey Price told Gay Star News. “In a close election, a smart candidate should be looking for any method they can to get out the vote—and we have them.”
