Adult Time Reaping Benefits of its Netflix-Style Approach

Back in January 2019, Gamma Entertainment launched Adult Time, a platform described as “a streaming service for adults modelled after similar platforms on the mainstream side like Netflix and Amazon Prime” by Adult Time Director of Marketing Frank Stacy.

Following the lead of those two services, “we release multiple episodes per day, making it a strong product for porn superfans,” Stacy said. “We also cover multiple niches so everyone can find something that they enjoy and enough of it for them to keep coming back.”

21 months after launching Adult Time, Gamma is happy about staking its fortunes on streaming video. “I think this is what people are getting used to now,” said Stacy. “If you want to de-stigmatize porn, you need to offer your users an experience that is on par with what they are used to on the mainstream side.”

Adult Time offers top-drawer features like easy browsing, high quality content and a range of program and buying options to motivate people to pay for its services. In addition, “we recently launched a Roku app as well as a Chromecasting functionality,” Stacy told YNOT. “For customers that care about their porn and are willing to invest in it, this is a much better user experience than what you can get for free, with curated content that will allow you to find what you like quickly.”

The content selection on Adult Time is quite varied. “We have our ongoing series from studios like Pure Taboo and Girlsway as well as other studios we acquired over the years like Burning Angel, Devil’s Film, and 21Sextury,” Stacy noted. “In addition, we have partners like Rocco Siffredi as well as multiple channel partnerships including some select content from Girlfriends Films and MixedX. We have limited series that explore various genres like Transfixed, Shape Of Beauty, and Cardiogasm. We also started more and more collaborations with content creators and performer through our Model Time brand and our Creator Program initiative.”

Because Adult Time monitors how often its content is accessed, the service has a good sense of what is popular with today’s porn fans. So, what is ‘hot’ right now?

“Besides the expected ongoing popularity of girl-on-girl content and family roleplay, I would say the biggest surprise hit for us in the past year has been animated content,” Stacy said. “We launched our first 3D Hentai project in February called Hentai Sex School in collaboration with Animeshin Club and it was a big success. It opened up the door for a lot more of these types of projects. We are currently preparing for the release of a futanari series called F.U.T.A. Sentai Squad and our first 2D animated project, produced by a French animated company known for their cult Netflix series.”

Like possibly every business on Planet Earth, Adult Time has been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Covid’s biggest challenge has been on the production side. I think most people in the industry face similar challenges,” said Stacy. “It forced us to be creative when it comes to shooting scenes and to review our production guidelines to keep everyone safe.”

To cope, Adult Time has modified its update frequency and found new ways to work more directly with various content producers and performers. A case in point: “We launched Model Time as a result of more talent collaboration,” Stacy told YNOT. “We also started doing live shows and live events, something we had never done before.”

The good news, Stacy said, is Adult Time is “preparing for the worst and so far there hasn’t been a negative impact on traffic, sales, viewership or engagement.”

“Business has been good and stable,” Stacy added. “We need to remain careful, but this has been a good year for Adult Time, regardless of the pandemic.”

Looking ahead, Stacy sees even more variety coming to the platform’s program lineup.

“I think content that pushes the boundaries of sex and gender will gain in popularity,” he said. “In the upcoming months, you can expect to see an increase of bisex content on Adult Time, more trans projects, and even some gay series.”
