AVN Stars Spotlight: Goddess Brandon |
A version of this feature ran in the April issue of AVN magazine. Click here for the digital edition. LOS ANGELES—Blessed with beauty and bodacious curves, Goddess Brandon began working as a glamour model at age 22. “I eventually made my way to Craigslist and SexyJobs and found work dabbling into fetishes,” she says. “After booking a handful of fetish shoots ranging from vore/giantess, foot fetish, tickling and more, I decided that I could do this myself as well. I went to a local pawn shop, found my first camera and my future husband and partner in crime the first week of January 2008, I opened my first clip store on Clips4Sale.com and produced my first clips that same month.” Since then she’s continued to build fans in a number of arenas, from social media to the still-new AVN Stars platform. “My focus has mainly been on femdom and fetish for my entire career,” Brandon says. “I try and cater to everyone and make a little something to tickle each individual fancy.” Asked what has surprised her the most during her career, Brandon says, “What started off as really a desperate situation to make money turned into a career that has expanded most of my adult life and has given me things in life I could have only thought were possible in my dreams its Allowed me to be a female business owner and more, hands down the most surprising thing of all is growing from a girl into a woman within my career and to be appreciated for it all along the way. AVN: What was your first job in the adult entertainment industry? GB: I started off when I was 22 years old doing bikini and glamour nude shoots. I eventually made my way to Craigslist and Sexyjobs and found work dabbling into fetishes but in the beginning most of my work was print. When did you start producing and selling your own content? After booking a handful of fetish shoots ranging from Vore/Giantess, foot fetish, tickling and more I decided that I could do this myself as well. I went to a local pawn shop, found my first camera and my future husband and partner in crime the first week of January 2008, I opened my first clip store on clips4sale.com and produced my first clips that same month. What kinds of fetish content do you shoot? Are some platforms better than others for selling certain content? I absolutely believe that something are better suited for different platforms what sells on one clip site 20 times may not sell even once on another. It's important to diversify without spreading yourself too thin. How did you develop your persona as a “mommy domme”? Well, the internet helped a lot with that as I have been playing the role of MILF, domme-mommy and mommy since I was about 25 and long before I actually became a real-life MILF! I think between my nurturing but firm personality, natural breasts and mommy-like essences about me, it was an easy fit and one I have embraced and enjoy throughly. You produce “420-friendly” clips. Is that something you see more interest in now that more states are legalizing marijuana? Actually when I first started in 2008 my best-selling content was anything 4-20 related. I was making thousands of dollars just ripping bongs! But I think social acceptance is higher than ever which is great. I have been advocating and partaking for years and my long time fans know. I smoke in all clips and custom videos unless asked not too but I gave up cigarettes in 2013! What sparked your interest in foot fetish? Was it something that fans requested? I have beautiful feet and they have been admired internationally and even won me an award last year as Foot Night Internationals Breakout Star of the Year! It certainly started with being booked regularly for foot-fetish work. I am still hired by other producers to showcase my pretty feet! I absolutely enjoy the work and all the loyal foot-fetish fans! According to your social media, you’ve been in the business for 11 years. I have two questions about how things have changed: How has technology changed the way you produce content? Dear god, yes. I do not consider myself tech savvy like at all and I have had to learn and take on new things I could have never imagined. When I started filming I used a "flip cam" and it probably filmed in less than 720. The first eight years or more of my business I used windows movie makers! Then 4k and HD everything came along and you had to step it up or get left in the dust. Twitter and social media wasn't anything. You couldn't auto tweet your content and updates. You had to just make, share it and hope that it sold! I'm lucky to have been so fortunate and to have built a fanbase like I have over the years that continues to grow as it changes. Do you see a change in your fan base over the last decade—both in terms of who follows you and also how they engage with you? Yes, without a doubt I started off a big-boobed young woman with little experience in the world, with my sexuality and more. As I grew my fan base has grown and changed with me, picking up new followers for all new reasons along the way. My fans have watched me from beginning, through pregnancy, changes in life and to where I am today. I remain positive things will only continue to grow and get better from here! What is the most unexpected or surprising thing you’ve run across in your career? That I made it, that I'm doing this interview with AVN Magazine, I told my mother in law and she cried. That what started off as really a desperate situation to make money turned into a career that has expanded most of my adult life and has given me things in life I could have only thought were possible in my dreams. It's allowed me to be a female business owner and more, hands down the most surprising thing of all is growing from a girl into a woman within my career and to be appreciated for it all along the way. What are the strengths and weaknesses of AVN Stars? I see so much potential here which is why I have devoted so much of myself to it. The platform is fantastic and easy to navigate and my fans love it not to mention it is a pretty site and when I'm on it I feel right at home within all the pink and such! Everything has bugs and needs tweaking and I think AVN is well on the way to being perfect! What advice would you give to someone who is considering a career in adult entertainment? I would tell him or her to trust their gut, use their head, save their money and find an adult industry friendly tax person (I know one) and to just remember that not everyday is going to be great and today you may the best but tomorrow the crown may belong to someone else. Stay humble and kind you never know where that may get you in life. Kindness and appreciation has opened more doors for me and helped me more than my big tits ever have. What kind of “self care” do you do to keep happy and healthy in your work? Self care is so important and I can't stress that enough. I enjoy working out, lifting weights, specifically. I try and spend one or more days outdoors and in nature. I am a medical marijuana advocate because it has improved my life and is part of my self care, giving back has helped me tremendously. I am an ambassador for Pineapple Support and being able to help this community anyway that I can has helped me more than I can put into words. Is there anything you wish was different about the adult entertainment industry? Or for that matter, is there anything you wish was different about mainstream culture? Instead of focusing on what I wish was different I would like to focus on what I want to see more of and that is acceptance and opportunity for everyone. More diversity in the adult/mainstream community, more female producers and directors and not just starlets and I really, really want to see more women over 35 celebrated and honored in entertainment as we have been lately.
