Porn, Horror Director Ivan Launches Podcast from His Hospital Bed

LOS ANGELES—As award-winning porn and horror director Ivan continues his recovery from emergency surgery following complications from diabetes, he’s decided to continue to entertain fans, this time with a podcast. “My almost 50 years on this planet has taken me from Mother Russia during the Cold War to the land of opportunity. These opportunities led me to my film school education, my filmmaking career and the crazy life of being a porn director from the insane ‘money falling from the sky’ days to ‘Holy shit where did it all go?’ years,” he said. “Sometimes I would sit back and wonder how did a nice Russian Jewish boy wound up in this whirlwind of sex, drugs, hookers, socialites and Tarantino-esque life moments. I can’t wait to share these stories. I believe what I offer in story telling will not be the typical conversation so many try to fill their air time with.” Using the moniker “Slivan” (a mixture of his real name Slava and adult director name Ivan) he has built a big following with his unabashed honesty and never shy emotion filled posts on his various platforms. It started 17 years ago when his blog won Porn Blog of the Year and he continued his public transparency look into his life and career with his YouTube channel (Slivan.TV) which has close to 50 million views and more than 51,000 subscribers.  With his hospitalization late last year and now heading into his ninth surgery on his leg, Ian has decided to start his newest venture from his hospital bed.
