AVN Star: Mastering Fin-dom With Rachel Sarah |
A version of this article ran in the January 2020 issue of AVN magazine. Click here to see the digital edition. LOS ANGELES—Rachel Sarah admits that mastering the financial-domination genre came naturally for her. “I’ve been some version of fin-dom my whole adult life, whether it’s making guys pay for dates or making guys buy me little presents here and there,” Sarah tells AVN. “It just takes practice. You kind of have to expect at the beginning you’re going to fail a lot. But that’s almost like your education in fin-dom. You’re going get your time wasted by people; you’re going to make mistakes. That’s when you sharpen your skills… “I think it's fun. Every now and then I make a mistake but it's like a hobby and I really enjoy figuring it out.” Known on AVN Stars as the notorious @restingbratface, Sarah has turned her hobby into a lucrative hustle. At press time in November Sarah’s slick fin-dom game had skyrocketed her to the third highest earner on the entire platform. As she states in no uncertain terms in her AVN Stars bio, “adoring me is an expensive habit.” “I do tease content—flashes of skin here and there,” says Sarah, who holds down a full-time day job as a health care professional in Arizona, where she was born and raised. “A lot of my demographic likes to be teased and denied.” Sarah recalls first becoming aware of AVN Media Network’s growing social media platform when she saw January AVN cover girl Violet Doll promoting Stars on Twitter in late spring of 2019. By June, Sarah had decided to dive in herself. “I love it. I drive everybody there. It’s pretty much the only place I post content now,” Sarah says. “I just love everything about it. Customer support has been the best out of everything I’ve ever tried. I love the pay-to-view messages; I love that you can post stuff for free or have it be just for subscribers. “And I actually love that you can see your statistics really easily; you just click on that magic button and the numbers and graphics come up. As a creator that’s really important. It gives me something concrete to look at. Plus, I really like that I can follow my friends. I don’t necessarily have to subscribe to anybody. AVN Stars is definitely the only paid platform I use anymore.” Sarah, who calls herself “ripoff royalty,” says her ascent on AVN Stars happened fast. “It was actually quick,” she says. "By August I started seeing myself in the top 10. I had a lot of subs and fans before from Twitter and I’m also on a fem-dom discord server and I brought some of those people over.” Her appear on the platform comes to life with biting posts such as this one on October 10, when she teased her fans with a short video clip of her cleavage with the following message: “There’s a servant lying inside you. Eager to please, and starved for my unique affection. Desperate for the lessons my disapproval can teach you. It doesn’t matter what you present to the world. You can pretend to be whatever you choose. You need me. Goddess, Mother, Princess, Succubus.” Sarah says she only started exploring her potential with fin-dom about 18 months ago. “I turned 30 and it was just sort of like I changed and I kind of became excited about looking for a creative outlet,” she explains. "I don’t know what the future holds but this has been a fun exploration of what I like and I don't like.” She did about a year-and-a-half of on-the-job training for her current specialized position in health care, a field in which she has made a living for the past 11 years. “It now requires a degree,” Sarah says. “I wouldn’t say it’s my passion but I’m good at it and I like it. I think something like sex work really taps into my creative mind and it's what I’m more passionate about.” She doesn’t berate her subs or demand they send her money. “I‘m sort of worshiped with money, rather than being a demander of money,” Sarah says. “It’s like paying tithes to a church.” The AVN Star likes “doing stuff that people don’t expect.” For example, she owned a hearse for about six years while in her early 20s before selling it. “I was attracted to them for as long I can remember. They’re so big and imposing. I think i must've been 20 and I had a lot of disposable income. I got a 1960 Cadillac Miller-Meteor. I don’t know exactly what drove that desire but I like the unusual stuff in life—the oddities and macabre,” Sarah reveals. When she isn’t working, Sarah sometimes likes to “catch up on bad TV.” “I love watching Golden Girls re-runs every chance I get,” she confesses. Sarah plans to ride with AVN Stars all the way. “I can’t wait to see how much bigger it gets and how much it evolves,” she says. “I see more and more people enjoying it every day. Hopefully I’ll stay among the top models.” She changed her social media handles to @restingbratface around Christmas 2018. “I'm not really a bitch, but I am kind of a brat,” Sarah jokes.
