Brazzers, THNK1994 Present ‘Backroom VHS’ Exhibit Sept 28-29 |
New York, NY — â90s nostalgia, itâs so hot right now! So, get ready to time-travel back to your fav video storeâs â90s-era backroom via an interesting art exhibit — âBackroom VHS,” presented by Brazzers and the THNK1994 Museum. Featuring original art by Miriam Carothers, âBackroom VHSâ is a time-traveling art exhibit that transports visitors to the backroom of the local video rental store. Visitors can live out leftover fantasies from a bygone era behind the proverbial beaded curtain. At 310 C(anal), enter a VHS wonderland where the lights are low and the late fees are strictly enforced. Preview the latest releases including The F*ckening and Doctor! All Our A*sholes are Possessed!, sign up for a membership card, fall through the Pay Phone Glory Hole Time Machine, anal-yze artifacts or just relax in the employee break room. âBackroom VHSâ will run from September 28 through 29 at 310 Canal St. New York, NY, with open exhibit hours from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Stars appearing at the exhibit include Abella Danger, Nicolette Shea, Phoenix Marie, Jordi El Nino Polla and Luna Star. This exhibit is a collaborative effort by Brazzers and Matt Harkins and Viviana Olen of The Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan 1994 (THNK1994) Museum. Since 2015, THNK1994 has been at the forefront of creating innovative yet accessible experiential exhibits that look beyond tabloid headlines in a celebration of iconic women, facilitating thoughtful conversation around them, all while featuring women and LGBT artists. Harkins and Olen are known for their titular exhibit, as well as “Olsen Twins Hiding From the Paparazzi,” “Anna Wintour Double Crossing Her Legs,” “Nicole Richie’s 2007 Memorial Day BBQ” and more. Miriam Carothers is a Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer. Her work has been shown in galleries around the world, as well as in three shows at THNK1994. Her work has appeared on “Broad City” and countless publications in need of an illustrator to interpret the most outrageous moments in pop culture.
