AVN Stars Spotlight: Eden Blake |
A version of this article is featured in the September 2019 issue of AVN magazine. Click here for the full digital edition. LOS ANGELES—Sometimes when Eden Blake finds herself in a certain mood, she likes taking guys to school with her “Fetish Philosophy Class.” One such time came during a mid-July post on her free-wheeling, unpredictable and always entertaining AVN Stars feed. “Most of you haven't even started to scratch the surface of what it means to truly serve,” Blake begins—in a post that might best be characterized as a poetic ass-kicking. “…The phrase ‘pay-to-play’ exists for good reason. … Fetish. Costs. Extra. Like any addiction, it can ruin your life—and if you're seeking a Dollar-Domme, you've definitely barked up the wrong tree. “Watch Me exercise MY #IgnoreFetish until you figure that out. “Class Dismissed!” The seasoned cam model brings her sardonic wit, smoldering looks and flair for fem-dom to AVN Stars on a daily basis—and the combination is proving hard to beat. Fueled by her consistency and creativity, the West Coast native at press time was among the top models on the entire AVN Stars platform—less than two months after she joined. “Honestly, I’ve been waiting for a platform like this for a long time,” Blake tells AVN. “There have been similar ones like it in the past, but they popped up and then failed as quickly as they arrived. “When you guys launched this—everybody knows the AVN Awards—I figured it had to be legit. I figured it was a platform I could trust jumping over to.” The sassy tease—whose short bio at @edenblake says “a hilarious mix of vanilla & fem-dom”—calls AVN Stars “a one-stop type of platform” because of its versatility. “You can tip from anywhere and the payouts are unbeatable. There are so many reasons to be over there. It’s like Twitter and Snapchat combined—but better,” she says. The 30-year-old Blake made her adult industry debut in 2010 on MyFreeCams—where she still logs on almost every day—and joined AVN Stars in May. “I started uploading a lot of the content I had dating back to December when I was going ham on cam,” she says with tongue in cheek. “So yeah, I had a lot of photos and videos stored—basically all the best of my Snapchat from that time—and I threw up all my content. I sold my other content and old videos and pictures and I made the account look ready to be subscribed to. And I started telling my dudes about it from the other platforms I was on.” Now Blake uses AVN Stars exclusively—outside of her presence on MFC and MFCShare. She gave up her Twitter and Snapchat to minimize the noise. “I eliminated all my social media before or shortly after I joined AVN Stars,” Blake says. “I eliminated the news outlets or distractions that eat my minutes. The news sucks and if it’s that important I’ll hear about it. AVN Stars kind of makes up for the need for the other ones.” In short, if fans want more of Blake’s often biting and sometimes disarming dispatches when she’s not holding court on MFC, there is only one place to get them. The former Arby’s crew member and Starbucks barista keeps her subscribers guessing—will they get a taste of the delightfully naughty, playfully sexy Blake—or the funny ball-crusher? She places her “dudes” on notice with regular incentivized posts such as: “Oh hay, If you tip Me $500 I'll send you a pic of this turd I'm chopping for your dinner.“#FuckinCunt” or “Task for Professor Blake's Class: Measure your jizz and tip Me $10 for every teaspoon, tsp. that you ever cum, from this day forward. If you can't tip, you can't cum again until you've paid your weight. “CLASS DISMISSED!” When Blake isn’t firing verbal missiles on AVN Stars, she most likely is pulling an all-nighter on MFC, where she has “tried a little bit of everything throughout the years.” “It’s kind of a grab bag,” Blake says of her nightly shows. “It’s one of those things that depends on what I have to feed off of at the time. I consider myself an entertainer more than a content producer, for example. “I have to have an audience and engagement and something to react to. … It can be friendly, chill, casual conversation that is accepting and open or the next minute I’m berating some troll out of my chatroom without lifting a finger on the ban button—or terrifying and confusing a sub. It flips from moment to moment. I try to be reactive, depending on who’s going to bring what.” She continues, “Now I’m doing more of what I prefer. … I don’t do any live penetration or orgasms. I offer custom videos to a very limited audience—they aren’t cheap—and I do nude teasing shows all the time. I hangout in public chat fully clothed or scantily clad.” Blake at the time of this interview in July intended to do a cam show “every single day this month.” “That’s what it takes,” Blake reasons. “I pulled 85 consecutive days from the beginning of December to the last week of February and I won [Miss MFC] Top 350 in December and January.” Blake held down various odd jobs—she also punched the clock at Dairy Queen and Quiznos, not to mention doing retail—before she became a licensed massage therapist, a profession she pursued for two years prior to going full-time in adult. “I was always just kind of encouraged to pursue the potential of my appearance and somebody told me about the platform MFC and I gave it a shot,” Blake recalls. “At first it didn’t really stick. It was hard work to deal with. So I stepped back at first and then finally jumped back into it. “Then I stuck with it all this time because of the potential that it gives you to turn your circumstances around. … I’ve taken hiatuses and switched to stripping—I’ve gone back and forth. I work with what I have at any given time. At times I didn’t have the space to cam out of and I would dance—or vice versa. Since 2010 I’ve been doing adult entertainment as an independent contractor non-stop.” She says her fetish work is “only a small fraction” of her repertoire—and income. “Simply because most people don’t really come correct or prepared for somebody that is genuinely a dominate personality I like I am. To me it’s about respect, not about force. I shouldn’t have to choke it out of someone. I shouldn’t have to coax it out.” “In reality most people don’t breach the threshold in order to engage in that type of fetish interaction with me. But I do have several really sweet, submissive tippers in my crowd.” Her Fetish Philosophy Class sessions with “Professor Blake” are intended to be equal parts amusing and arousing. “I include humor in all of it,” she says. “Fetish tends to be something taken way too seriously and it just isn’t fun anymore when people are having to hold each other to such strict boundaries. Wasn’t the whole point ‘to play?’” Blake quit high school halfway through her sophomore year but got her GED and joined the workforce. “I can’t sit still for anything. My knowledge is absorbed on the fly. I’m more of a thinker than a student,” she admits. Blake says she’s pleased with her early traction on AVN Stars, but not shocked. “Personally, I always feel like whenever success comes my way it was a long time coming,” she says. “I’ve always done kind of well per individual. I’ve believed in quality over quantity when it comes to a crowd or an audience. I apply a sense of genuine interaction.” She has “14 or 15” tattoos—but the one she receives the most questions about is her “N-O-T-H-I-N-G” tattoo on her back. “That’s the one that everybody asks me about and it won’t come as a surprise to you—knowing what a jackass of a personality I am—that I tend to give people different answers depending on what they’re projection toward me is. If he’s a judgmental asshole, I’ll say, ‘It’s what I think of myself.’ “I’ve told others, ‘If you have to ask, you wouldn’t get it.’ I’m just a jerk. I’ve used it as a selling point. I’ve said, ‘I’ll tell you if you give me 100 dollars.’ “It’s kind of hard to define but it’s a self-fortitude thing. For me it’s a very positive thing. I don’t know why everybody always takes it so negatively. At it’s very core it means nothing. It’s art. I got that tattoo because the vision in that photograph (her MFC Share banner) came to my mind. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy. I envisioned myself that way so I made it. That was the art I decided I wanted on my back.” Blake adds, “I’m making room for better, brighter, more colorful things. I have no regrets…”
