LadyStarr Featured in July Issue of CAMStar |
LOS ANGELES—The leader of the Starr Fleet on MyFreeCams recalls being interested in the mysteries of the universe for as long as she can remember. “My mom and I would read all about the solar system and space travel and then we got into shows like Star Trek and The X-Files,” says Skylar Starr, who is known on MFC as LadyStarr. “The universe amazes me with how little we truly know about it. So much space to be explored and so many things to discover!” For the past two-and-a-half years, Starr has channeled her energy into countless out-of-this-world cam shows that keep her members wondering what she’ll do next. “It takes a lot diligence and patience to keep yourself going at the very start, but once you just let yourself do your thing, the viewers notice and stick around,” Starr says. “Then more and more people want to be a part of the good times and before you know it you have a full squad of like-minded people that turn your dreams into reality.” The hard work continues to pay off for the former barista from California, who has a cat named Banana, loves tacos and says she has “video games for breakfast every day.” In this exclusive Q&A for CAMStar accompanied by 12 pages of photography by Keith Ryan, Starr discusses everything from coffee to her passion for photography, making animal noises and her favorite games at the moment, among other things. I am a total morning person, so when I thought about what point of the day I would be my most comfortable and happy, I knew it would be sometime when the sun is out and filling my cam room with natural light. Then once my session is over I have the whole rest of the day to get things done or play video games :D How do you like to use MFCShare? What are some of your most popular clips? I use MFCShare for basically everything. From strange token goals like “wear my sloth onesie on the airplane to Cali,” to hosting my videos/photosets, to sponsoring my food deliveries for after cam. The site is a blessing! My most popular clips are ones involving my booty and all its glory. Why are you the “Queen Troll”? Because there must be one to govern the many troll kings in my chat >:D On your tip menu, you also list “sing song”… What are some songs you like to sing? Favorite song to sing: “Here Without You” by 3 Doors Down…JK *inside chat joke* My favorite artist to sing is Norah Jones! I love to put her vinyl record on and serenade my room. What you have you learned about yourself since you started camming? That I really am not as shy as I once thought and that my butt can take A LOT of spanks lol. What are your hobbies or interests outside of camming? Well, video games of course! But when I'm not sitting at my computer I am outside in the sunshine as much as possible. I love taking my novel to the beach, going out with my Polaroid camera on a hiking trail to snap some nature, relaxing by my pool or kayaking in the river. I also have been known to cruise on my longboard, hit up the paintball field, and play my ukulele. When did you start becoming interested in gaming? When I got my hands on my brother's N64 at age 8. From then on I wanted to try all the different games and systems. I bought myself my very own console at age 16 and then eventually my first PC at 21. Needless to say it’s been a lifelong hobby. How would you describe your obsession with coffee? How do you take your coffee? I would describe it as a lifestyle. Which is funny because I used to LOATH coffee growing up. It wasn't until I started working as a barista that the infatuation began. With all that I learned about it I take my coffee in many different ways. Right now I'm enjoying a nice iced nitro coffee with my favorite coconut milk creamer! When did you become interested in photography? What kind of things do you like to photograph? I’ve loved taking pictures since I got my first digital camera in high school. My friends and I would go on hikes and find cool places to photograph. When I was 16 I started my own little operation of taking pictures for my family and friends (i.e. weddings, birthdays, baby pictures, senior pictures, etc.) It was so much fun to be in the happiest moments capturing all those emotions into a still for them to look back on and reminisce. Landscapes are a passion of mine but so are portraits. My goal was to get my cosmetology degree, take a few photography classes, and start my own studio. I put it on hold because school wasn't an option right out of high school. That could potentially be the route I take in the future though. What is your greatest achievement so far? Successfully moving myself across the country and keeping myself afloat by running my own small business for two years running. What’s next for you—how do you see the rest of 2019 and beyond? I haven't quite figured this out yet. My love for photography is calling me to possibly start a career in that, but my love for computers and gaming may also be the direction I go. For now I am just living my life day to day with a knowledge that soon there will be purpose to pursue. Photography by Keith Ryan
