Axel Braun Casts Kenzie Taylor as âCaptain Marvelâ |
LOS ANGELES—After an extensive search, Axel Braun has found his Marvel muse. The director recently held a casting call for his latest Wicked Comix production, Captain Marvel: An Axel Braun Parody, and today announced that he has tapped Kenzie Taylor to fill the role. While further details are still strictly hush-hush, the 2019 AVN Award winning Best Director - Feature was more than happy to talk about how Taylor’s formidable acting skills and sexual prowess will augment his most anticipated movie of the year. “Over a hundred and twenty girls submitted audition videos," the director exclaimed. "Although I'm used to huge turnouts when holding physical casting calls, this was literally insane! The top agents were as usual very proactive and efficient, but this time a huge percentage of submissions also came from self-booking talent. The audition consisted of a fairly long and pretty complex monologue, and 99 percent of the girls memorized it in its entirety, which was very impressive and indicative of a refreshing level of professionalism and commitment in the industry. More than half of the submissions were very good, and it took me a couple of days to narrow it down to a short list of four exceptional ones.” But the story doesn’t end there, Braun reveals. “Today, OC Modeling sent me Kenzie’s video ... and I immediately realized my search was over. Her audition was literally on a whole different level from anyone else's. Kenzie’s acting was fantastic, and she managed to show strength, intensity and vulnerability at the same time, and she projected a genuine aura of wholesomeness while exuding the right amount of sex appeal. She will be a phenomenal Carol Danvers, and I can’t wait to see her in the Captain Marvel costume!” “I am so full of gratitude, and totally speechless,” Taylor exclaimed. “This is my first real opportunity to show everyone what I’m truly capable of as an adult actress, and I really am just mind blown—I feel like I’m dreaming and I need to wake up! All I can say is thank you so much Axel Braun and Wicked Pictures for trusting me with this amazing role! I am really looking forward to embarking on this journey with Axel, and digging into the complexities and the physicality of this character. Saying that I will give this 110 percent would be an understatement.” A superhero in his own right when it comes to triumphing at the annual AVN Awards, Braun is a critically acclaimed auteur in the porn parody genre. His most recent Wicked Comix epic, the Marvel spoof Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, was not only a commercial success but also took home four major trophies at the 2019 AVN Awards: Best Parody, Best Actor (Seth Gamble), Best Art Direction and Best Makeup. And he’s always savvy about picking a project that will benefit from mainstream buzz—and that’s certainly the case with Captain Marvel. Now beginning its third week at the top of the box office, and starring Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson, Captain Marvel is already the most successful mainstream movie release of 2019. Yet while the adventures of Carol Danvers may be new to the silver screen, the character is one that Braun has sought to bring to his “AxelVerse” for years. Braun famously offered the role to professional wrestler, actress and mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey in 2015, with a $5,000,000 public bid chronicled by TMZ and other mainstream sites. Captain Marvel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody is the director's first big-budget production to go before the cameras since his ambitious black-and-white original feature The Possession of Mrs. Hyde won big at the 36th AVN Awards in Las Vegas, picking up trophies for Best Action/Thriller, Best Director - Feature, Best Screenplay (written by Braun in collaboration with his late father, Lasse Braun, and his son, adult filmmaker Rikki Braun), and Best Boy/Girl Sex Scene (lead actress Avi Love and Roman Nomar), before snagging the evening's top prize, Movie of the Year (Braun’s fourth win in the category). Captain Marvel XXX: An Axel Braun Parody will be available in late summer 2019. For more, visit Wicked.com.
