Performer, Model Lynn Pleasant Indicted on Murder-for-Hire Charges

Former performer and (possibly) current webcam personality Lynn Pleasant, whose IAFD listing says she’s also worked as “Lynn” and also as “Passion,” has been indicted on murder-for-hire charges.

Pleasant, who is currently 31 years old, was arrested on December 19 at the Spokane International Airport. Court documents say Pleasant was indicted on December 18 in the US District Court in Idaho and is accused of “using interstate commerce in the commission of murder for hire.” Luckily, no one was harmed in Pleasant’s unpleasant murder plot.

According to coverage on Heavy.com, prosecutors said that Pleasant used a phone on four occasions between October 20 and November 10 and the mail on another occasion in attempt to get a hitman to kill someone identified as “R.H.” Prosecutors argued that Pleasant is dangerous and a flight risk and, thus, should be held in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Pleasant, who hails from North Dakota, was active in the industry as a performer from 2004 through 2011 and has 37 credits listed on IAFD. She won a 2016 Adult Webcam Award for “Best Amateur or Part-Time Internet” (?) for her work on HomeWebcamModels.com, though I cannot seem to find her profile on that site. Pleasant’s Twitter account includes a link to iFriends, but that site, as we know, has been shuttered since October.

As per usual, the mainstream media has been clickbaiting the shit out of this news. In addition to obsessing over her legal name, there is a lot of preoccupation with Pleasant’s career in the industry.

People.com wrote “Adult Film Actress Charged in Murder-for-Hire Plot, Arrested at Airport.” Mirror.co.uk wrote “Porn star arrested for allegedly trying to hire hitman for murder.” KTVB.com – news out of Idaho proper – wrote “Idaho adult film actress charged in murder-for-hire plot.” You get the idea.

Interestingly, the copy contained in each of these stories says about the same thing, all with coincident inaccuracies — a key sign of copy/paste clickbait.

One headline was especially sassy. When I read KXLY Spokane’s headline, “Self-proclaimed porn star indicted on murder-for-hire charges in North Idaho,” I was actually taken aback. Though I will be the first person to say the descriptor “porn star” is used way too fast and loose in the mainstream, as well as within the industry itself, “self-proclaimed” in this context is unnecessarily mean. But again, clickbait.

Clearly Pleasant is not in a good way, and this level of media coverage is likely not going to help improve her situation. I can only hope that her circumstances improve, without including the murder-death of another person in the process.
