LGBTQ Charity Rejects Donations From Gay Wrestler Who Does Porn

Last month, AVN.com reported on an Australian professional wrestler, Dave Marshall, who is gay and who in addition to his profession as a grappler, produces his own gay porn videos for the site OnlyFans, which allows its users to upload and offer their homemade sex videos to any fan willing to pay a nominal fee to view them. With Marshall, his homegrown porn gig was also a way to do some good in honor of his father, who committed suicide last year. Marshall donated about the equivalent of $3,600 in United States currency to the LGBTQ suicide-prevention charity Beyond Blue. But that’s when Marhsall, 29, got a rather unpleasant surprise. The charity rejected his donation, according to a report by Gay Star News. When reports surfaced of Marshall’s intention to donate his OnlyFans income to Beyond Blue, he got a call from the charity. “The suicide prevention charity told Marshall they cannot accept his donations because they come from activities such as ‘gambling, alcohol and pornography,’” reported Gay Star News, which examined an email exchange between Marshall and the charity. “They say he used Beyond Blue’s name to ‘promote the sale of products’ that he offers ‘in the field of pornography.’” Marshall said he was stunned when he received the call. “To me, money is money. It came from the heart,” he said in a Gay Star News interview. He said that the site offered to keep the money as a “personal donation” as long as Marshall never mentioned that was donating to Beyond Blue, but that option did not work for the wrestler. “I don’t want to be quiet about what I’m doing. So it wasn’t the charity for me,” Marshall said. Instead, Marshall took back his donation from Beyond Blue—and donated the cash instead to Black Dog, a mental health charity, which he says accepted the cash with no issues. In fact, Marshall doubled the amount of his donation. “They are another of the bigger ones in Australia,” Marshall said. “As my father was one of the main factors in the choice of charity, it’s quite fitting.” Photo by Dave Marshall Instagram
