Fresh Faces: Jane Wilde |
LOS ANGELES—Jane Wilde remembers feeling calm ahead of her porn debut in January. “I just felt ready,” Wilde says. “I don’t want to sound cocky—because that’s not the vibe at all—but I knew that I could do it.” So did Seth Gamble, the 12-year veteran stud who supplied the lumber in Florida for Reality Kings. “I have done hundreds of girls’ first scenes,” Gamble tells AVN. “Working with performers like Jane is always a huge treat. She exudes sexual energy and I could tell from that day that she already was happy and loved doing this. “I was honored to do her first scene and a couple more and look forward to seeing how far she can go in this business. She has the total package.” The former cam model performed in two more scenes for Reality Kings during the first week of her career, leaving no doubt she made the right decision to jump from MyFreeCams into professional porn. “I was just like, I love this shit. Give me more scenes,” Wilde recalls. “I just want to work with more performers, more companies, more directors. I want to meet people. I want to learn and I want to get better.” Ten months and 80-something scenes later, the ambitious, 20-year-old Spiegler Girl from the New York City borough of Queens is on her way to bona fide stardom, emerging as one of the most promising newcomers in the deep and talented Class of 2018. According to her agent Mark Spiegler, Wilde at press time was preparing for bookings with Brazzers, Elegant Angel, Blacked Raw, Nubiles and Jacky St. James on the heels of recent dates with BangBros, Zero Tolerance, NuruMassage, Joanna Angel, Mick Blue, Bryan Gozzling, James Avalon and Jules Jordan. “Everybody that’s worked with her has really liked her,” Spiegler tells AVN. “She’s our kind of girl—reliable and definitely into the sex, especially anal. And she’s very mature for her age. “She knows who she is. She’s not a wilting flower of any sort.” Wilde did her first anal with AVN Hall of Fame performer Mick Blue in a clash that debuted on HardX.com in May and arrived on DVD in Anal Casting. “Jane is a great performer and I was very surprised how good she was working with her the first time,” Blue, who won the top award for a male porn star three consecutive times from 2015-17, tells AVN. “I think we had great energy and chemistry in this remarkable scene for Mason. “Jane was so good that since then I also shot her for Throated.com and also did another scene with her for BAMVisions.com. “Jane has great potential as a performer and definitely is one of Best New Starlet candidates of the upcoming AVN Awards in 2019.” Wilde says that sometimes even she surprises herself with her sexual prowess. “There are definitely scenes where I cannot believe I did that,” she admits. “All my anal scenes are absolutely my favorite. I love anal. I love how I look doing anal. “I have a scene that just came out for Evil Angel directed by Francesca Le. That scene is amazing. I love it.” So does Mark Wood, the AVN Hall of Fame performer who drilled Wilde that day. “I met her on another set and thought she was a really good performer but she wasn’t doing anal at the time,” Wood, who has amassed more than 3000 credits since the late 90s, tells AVN. “As soon as I saw she was available for anal I thought she would be perfect for one of our LeWood/Evil Angel movies, since we focus on newer anal girls. “We first shot her in a movie called Anal Darlings 2. Most of the time we don’t repeat a lot of girls, but she made such an impression on Francesca that we knew we would have her back. We recently shot her again in Anal Heartbreakers 4. Francesca calls her ‘my anal rainbow princess.’” Wilde continues to pass every butt-sex test—squaring off with heavy-packing Dredd for Jules Jordan and standing up to reputed ass-man Mike Adriano for True Anal. “I had been wanting to work with Dredd since the first time I saw him,” Wilde says. “I just knew that visually it would be something that people would love forever and I wanted people to see that.” She says when Jordan first asked her if she was open to taking on Dredd, he gave her the option of doing a regular scene or anal. “So I said, ‘We’re doing anal. I don’t know if I can do this but I’m going to show up on set ready for anal and we’ll see what happens. I’m not going to beat myself up if I can’t do it,’” Wilde says. “And I did it. That was probably one of the highlights of my career so far.” Speaking of highlights, Wilde at the time of this interview was looking forward to her Brazzers debut with one of their notorious contract guys, Xander Corvus. “Xander is one of my porn crushes who I’ve been wanting to work with forever,” she says. Wilde admits she wasn’t always this self assured. In high school she was the victim of bullying. “I had very little self-confidence,” she says. “I surrounded myself with people I probably shouldn’t have. And reflecting now I still deal with trust issues and things like that because of people I’ve let into my life.” She continues, “I never felt like I could model. When I first got into porn I didn’t even apply to Spiegler because I did not at the time feel I was Spiegler Girl material. “I knew who he was, of course. I knew who Riley Reid was—she was my favorite star. When you associate names like Riley Reid, Angela White and Asa Akira with Spiegler, I in no way felt I was on that level. And I didn’t know if I would ever be on that level. “I’m like these are iconic porn stars and I haven’t even started porn yet. I don’t look like a Spiegler Girl. I don’t feel like one. I don’t think I can perform like one. So I kind of sold myself short in the beginning but I needed to do porn for a while and gain the confidence to be a Spiegler Girl.” No stranger to adult, Wilde first logged onto MyFreeCams on October 15, 2016, two weeks after her 18th birthday, while she was still working at American Apparel in Manhattan, commuting to the store every day on the train. “And I didn’t really have a plan. I just knew that I didn’t want to go to college,” Wilde says. “I’m not the academic type, if you will, but I feel that I’m intelligent enough and then I just started thinking, what can I do? And I found webcamming. I had never heard of webcamming in my life. I was like, what is this? Can you really make up to a thousand dollars a week just from broadcasting from home? So I started doing it. I was having fun with it. “I wasn’t the most popular cam girl but at that time I wasn’t really thinking so seriously about my long-term future. Then about a year after that I went through something in my personal life and I kind of didn’t have the same zest for it. I was just like, it’s not what I want anymore.” That difficult time “changed the way I felt about life in general,” she adds. “I lost someone really close to me in a traumatic way. And so I started thinking, I can’t waste a second. And I already knew that camming was not fulfilling me anymore—by itself at least. Not to say that I would never do it in the future. Because it is fun, but I couldn’t focus everything on that. “So I realized that I can’t live my life for anybody else or doing something that I don’t fully enjoy.” According to Wilde, one thing was certain: “I didn’t want a normal life.” “So I was like, what else is there for me? Then I started thinking I want to film myself having sex, but I don’t want it to look bad or amateurish,” she says. “So I said how can I be on camera having sex and look the best I’ve ever looked? And I said professional porn. That’s it—mainstream porn. All these sites—Brazzers, Blacked—I’ve been watching these for what feels like so long, which is terrible. People should not be watching porn under 18, but I was. “And I knew about porn but I didn’t think about who the people were in the scenes. I didn’t think of them as real people with lives. So I started thinking hard about—is this the right decision for me?” In December 2017 she began researching mainstream porn and found her first agency, which flew her to Florida on January 2 to make the rounds with Reality Kings, BangBros and Mofos. “I was like oh my god, I can’t believe this is happening so quickly. But I said what’s the point in waiting any more if I know this is what I want? Why start later? Why not start now and get better and better at it and have as much time in the industry as possible,” Wilde reasons. So she did, demonstrating her versatility along the way. In addition to her gonzo performances, Wilde already has racked up multiple credits for feature studios such as Pure Taboo and Girlsway, where she has proven she can do more than throw down for an aggressive ass reaming. “Apparently she can act,” Spiegler says. “They’ve used her a bunch of times for Pure Taboo, which is a whole other bonus that she can act. She knows there’s different levels to achieving success.” Wilde at press time had performed in three episodes for Pure Taboo, the 2018 AVN Award-winning Best New Imprint that also produced last year’s Best Drama, Half His Age: A Teenage Tragedy. She showed her flair for drama in the sci-fi thriller “Smart House of Horrors,” about a virtual home assistant that drives a young couple past their breaking point. The episode, which was co-directed by Mills and her long-time collaborator Craven Moorehead, came out in September and is part of Pure Taboo’s sensational “Future Darkly” series. It turns out Wilde was a last-minute replacement. “I’m like, how did I get this lucky?” she says. “It was with Donnie Rock and The Queen, Angela White. And me and Donnie, we play a young married couple who move into a new smart home, which is controlled by an Alexa-type device called Joy. And she can control the lights and the doors and everything in the house. And we set up a health tracking—like a wellness tracking—and it tracks our sex life. “So it’s telling us, ‘This is an ideal time for you to have sexual intercourse.’ And then we just ignore it, and it won’t shut up. So by the fifth day we’re like freaking the fuck out.” Angela White plays the property manager who returns to the home to find out what the problem is. “And we’re like, ‘This thing won’t shut up. It won’t let us out of the house,’” Wilde says. “I don’t want to spoil it, but it ends in a very messy threesome between all of us. “That was probably one of the best experiences of my life—not just in porn—to work with Angela. Because she’s just so nice, first of all. And the second of all, she is just an amazing porn star. “She’s a great actress; she’s gorgeous; and she’s just a very sexually energetic person. I never felt awkward being around her, even though we had never met before. I felt like we knew each other and I was really excited to play with her and I felt the same energy coming from her.” White, the 2018 AVN Female Performer of the Year who also was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in January, says the feeling was mutual. "Jane was an absolute pleasure to work with and I was so impressed by her positive attitude and demeanor,” White tells AVN. “It was a long day on set with lots of dialogue and we didn't start shooting sex until midnight. But Jane always conducted herself with the utmost professionalism and never once complained about the long hours. Jane is a sexual dynamo. I could tell that she was genuinely into the sex and that authenticity always comes across on camera.” Donnie Rock, who made his porn debut three-and-a-half years ago, tells AVN he also came away impressed with the brunette spinner. “She left that night saying that was the best scene she had shot yet,” Rock recalls. “I like her a lot. She’s smart. She knows random things. She’s super easy to be around and super slutty. You want every girl you work with to be that like that.” He adds, “The cherry on top is once the sex starts she’s a beast.” Meanwhile in September Wilde also made her screenwriting debut. Inspired by the model collaborations Pure Taboo produced with Kristen Scott, Gia Paige and Lena Paul, Wilde pitched Bree Mills her concept the first time she shot for her. “I told her about this idea that I had, the symbolisms behind it. And she really liked it,” says Wilde, who reveals she’s “a writer at heart.” “So she said, ‘Email me this. I’m moving into my new house this weekend but I’ll look at it as soon as I can.’ So I emailed her and I never heard anything back. But then I found out that I was booked for Pure Taboo on the 25th [of September] with Jake Adams. And he’s someone who I had told Bree that I had in mind for a specific role in my scenario." Still Wilde didn't expect that booking was going to be her episode. Not until Mills messaged her about a week before to break the news. “I did not think that she would get to it so quickly or that it was a priority of hers, which I wouldn’t blame her at all because she has so many projects that she’s doing," Wilde says. "She took what I wrote and turned it into a Pure Taboo script." The original story idea came from a dream that Wilde had. “And Bree helped me bring this to life and send the message that I really wanted to send through it. I’m so grateful. I still don’t know what I did to deserve it…But I’m just really grateful for it. I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” Wilde says. Mills recalls first meeting Wilde in May, when she was an extra in Anne: A Taboo Parody. “I was struck by how knowledgeable she was about the Pure Taboo brand,” Mills tells AVN. “She told me she was our biggest fan and she was not lying! She knew every episode, followed us closely online, and was extremely enthusiastic about being part of our project. “That kind of passion and genuine love of the content was evident in her presence and performance during the run and made her a standout for future projects. I do not do traditional go-sees. I don't believe that they are the best way to meet a new talent. That's why I book fresh faces as extras as a way to work together and see their skills and ethics in a real-life environment. Jane totally passed the extra test! “Since then, we've had her for several scenes and she's continued to bring her spirit, hard-work, and dedication to our brand in each performance. Having seen me shoot other model collaborations, she approached me about an idea of her own and I asked her to send something. She took that invitation very seriously, crafting a thoughtful, moving and compelling story that ended up in my inbox. It was an easy decision to green-light for production and the scene, entitled ‘Cutting the Cord: A Jane Wilde Story,’ will be released online in December.” Wilde says now that she has gotten a taste for writing her own porn scenario that “all I can think about is writing porn.” “I don’t want to write regular stories anymore. I just want to write amazing porn scenes,” she says. Even though she has shown her ability to act, Wilde says, “I would say I’m definitely a gonzo girl at heart.” “I have love for both of them. I kind of prefer to just let the animalistic feeling come out and just perform and not even worry about poses or positions and just let the carnal instinct come out. But I also if I’m going to do acting, then I want to do it for these amazing companies like Pure Taboo that really take it seriously.” It was fellow Spiegler Girl Alina Lopez who introduced Wilde to the porn super agent—who has represented five of the past six AVN Female Performer of the Year winners—after she and Lopez performed together with Kristen Scott for Girlsway in August. “And me and Alina, we got along really well. We clicked,” Wilde says. “She was in LA at the time and then she messaged me and she said, ‘Hey, I’m with Spiegler right now. I told him about you and how you’re a great performer and he wants to meet you.’ I was just not expecting that and I was like, um, OK. I don’t know what to do. Should I come? “And she was like, ‘Whether or not you want to switch agents, I would not pass up the opportunity to have a meeting with Spiegler. He doesn’t meet with just anyone.’” Wilde met with Spiegler that day for about two hours. “We talked about a lot of different things. I told him my situation and how I would be honored to be a Spiegler Girl. And the only thing stopping me right now is I was living in a model house. And I needed to get a permanent residence in LA and then I would feel comfortable,” Wilde says. “So he said, ‘OK, call me when you do that.’ So I was like OK, I’ll wait a little bit. And then I was like, why the hell would I wait? He’s inviting me to come to Spiegler Girls, which is like holy fucking shit, oh my god. I need to get my shit together and get on it.” While she calls signing with Spiegler “the smartest decision I ever made,” Wilde also says she liked her first agency and wouldn’t have left it for anyone else except him. “It was a special circumstance,” she says. “I needed to not limit myself and deny this opportunity.” Now Wilde says she has “a million times more confidence in myself, physically” compared to when she first started. “But also it’s a lot of mental,” she says. “Mentally, you need to know that you look good, and then you will look better, if that makes sense. “We all deal with body confidence issues and being in porn has definitely helped me with that a lot.” She continues, “I know how to perform to make the scene look the best possible, not just to get optimal pleasure for myself. And I have realized that pleasure for myself is of low importance. For me of high importance is just making sure that what’s on camera looks good to the viewer, period. “And that’s something that a lot of people don’t get, I think.” She tells AVN she’s committed to making a big name for herself in adult. “When I got into porn I knew that I wasn’t leaving voluntarily,” Wilde says. “I said I’ve been camming for one year. I’m naked all over the internet. That stuff is never going to go away. So I said if I’m doing porn, this is my career. This is my life. I’m going to do it for as long as I can. And it’s gonna be a job. “And I wanted it so bad and I still do. … I’m so passionate about performing and I want to do it forever. I want to be an icon. That’s the reason I’m with Spiegler and that’s the reason I got into porn in the first place because I want to go far with it. I don’t want a small career.” Photos by Jeff Koga from the set of the upcoming BAM Visions/Evil Angel release, Mick's Anal PantyHOES 5.
