Wicked Drops 'Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody' DVD

LOS ANGELES—Adult studio Wicked Pictures announced today that Deadpool XXX: An Axel Braun Parody is now available on DVD in stores and through online retailers. As befits a fantasy adventure showcasing Axel Braun's penchant for larger-than-life costumed characters, the two-disc collector's edition DVD made its debut on Halloween. One of the most high-profile releases from the award-winning Wicked Comix imprint, this take on Marvel's most irreverent superhero has been a hit with video-on-demand audiences since it became available for purchase through major eCommerce and stream-to-own services in September. Deadpool XXX is AVN Hall of Famer Braun's first parody to reach fans since his Justice League XXX, which scooped up multiple trophies at the 2018 AVN Awards Show. Deadpool XXX finds Braun favorite Seth Gamble taking on the role of Wade Wilson—the highly trained mercenary whose amazing regenerative abilities are second only to his hyperawareness and raunchy humor. In another current role, Gamble, is also the male lead in The Possession of Mrs. Hyde, Braun's first non-parody feature in fifteen years. An award-winning art director and costume designer, Armstrong even created his own take on Cable's iconic costume and mechanical arm. “It was an absolute honor finally getting to work with Axel” said Armstrong. “I got to witness the magic happening first hand … the way he tests his actors by giving them their scripts the night before so the lines are fresh is pure genius!!! I also got the privilege of making my own costume, fixing jessica’s Lady Deadpool mask until 2 a.m. the morning of the shoot, and loaning props last minute. And as a bonus I got to overcharge him for a location. Overall a win-win-win!!! All jokes aside, the movie came out great. Seth was phenomenal, Bartholet was really funny, and as much as it pains me to admit it, Axel didn’t suck! I mean, there should have been WAY more Cable, but whatever!" From a cameo by Avi Love in which she reprises her Mrs. Hyde character to James Bartholet's turn as Wade's agent, Braun relentlessly pushes the envelope with comical asides which break both the fourth and fifth walls of conventional drama. “It's always a great honor working with the maestro Axel Braun," raved Bartholet. Braun favorite Romi Rain—thanks to her turn as Wonder Woman—is a dead ringer for the classic Elektra of vintage Marvel lore, while Ramon Nomar put on 27 pounds of pure muscle to portray rageaholic killing machine Franke Castle, The Punisher. No meta-porn blockbuster would be complete without self-referential non-sex cameos, and Deadpool XXX contains several, including Braun himself alongside fellow parody specialist Will Ryder, whose thespian track record with the director includes turns as Perry White in both Superman XXX and Superman v Spider-Man.
