Annie Sprinkle To Screen 'Water Makes Us Wet' In LA Sept. 24

MARFA, TX—Retired adult star/ecosexual activist Annie Sprinkle and partner Beth Stephens are currently on the final leg of their cross country road trip in their "Earth Lab Mobile Unit" camper, and they've been interviewing artists across the USA whose projects address environmental and ecological issues and ideas. Along the way, they've also been screening their documentary, Water Makes Us Wet: An Ecosexual Adventure—and they'd like to invite the adult industry and its fans to the film's California premiere in Beverly Hills. The screening will take place at the Ahrya Fine Arts theater on Monday night, Sept. 24. "This film aligns with our mission to make environmental art that is serious yet sexy, fun and diverse," Sprinkle said in a press statement. "Professor T.J. Demos of UCSC's History of Art & Visual Culture described our film as 'Liquid Joy.' Steve Loe, a retired Forest Service Biologist, said, 'I loved the movie! Thank you for caring about water, our National Forests and other public lands.' Donna Haraway, Distinguished Emerita Scholar from UCSC's History of Consciousness described WMUS as, 'A film that takes us into the watery depths of thinking and feeling for more vital earthlings.' If you love and care about water—and who doesn’t?—you will likely enjoy this homage to H2O told from an ecosexual perspective." Sandy Stone, artist and trans icon, is the film's narrator, speaking in the voice of the Earth. Also featured are author-scholar Donna Haraway, artists Guillermo Gomez Pena, Balitronica, Reverend Billy Talen, Dragonfly Diva, plus Steve Loe and other biologists, cool water treatment plant workers, and a diverse range of other folks. According to Sprinkle, the film "climaxes in a shocking event that reaffirms the power of the Earth’s water and life. Come celebrate all of this with us." Both Sprinkle and Stephens will be in attendance at the LA showing, along with producer and Director of Photography Keith Wilson, some of the cast, crew, and music supervisor David B.
