Pornhub, Lanksy, Kanye Trade Twitter Props Post Kimmel Shout-Outs |
HOLLYWOOD—Rapper/clothing designer/Kardashian-by-marriage Kanye West sent the porn world into a bona fide twitter (pardon the played out pun) when he unapologetically delved into his porn-watching habits during a guest appearance Thursday night on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Specifically, after Kimmel asked him whether having daughters has changed his attitude toward women, West told him, "Nah, I still look at Pornhub," which drew an enormous roar of laughter and applause. Latching onto the dangled plum of provocativeness, Kimmel pushed further by asking what sort of stuff he likes to watch, to which West responded, "Blacked is my favorite category." Both Pornhub and Blacked.com director/chief creative officer Greg Lansky, knowing priceless exposure when they receive it, made sure Friday to tweet their appreciation to West for the nods—and gift him free lifetime memberships to their respective paysites. See those tweets below: In turn, remarkably, West retweeted both tweets of gratitude complete with fire emojis to show his own: But the lovefest didn't end there: TMZ.com reported Saturday that Lanksy has sent a letter to West (which can be viewed here) offering him the chance to direct a movie for Blacked with sister studio Vixen's 2017 and 2018 Angels of the Year Kendra Sunderland and Tori Black starring. "This is a great opportunity to bridge the gap between adult entertainment and mainstream, something never done in history!" Lanksy wrote in the letter. (Not to take away from the excitement a Kanye-directed adult movie would surely generate, but we do feel obligated to point out for the sake of historical edification that Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, DJ Yella, 50 Cent and Dave Navarro have all done this.) Meanwhile, with Pornhub having the astronomical brand recognition it does, mainstream outlets flocked to report on West's plug of the monolithic tube site. Stories about the endoresement appeared from the likes of Complex, Cosmopolitan, Paper, Barstool Sports, Dazed, The Daily Dot, Billboard and more. West has been far from shy about his affinity for porn prior to this; earlier this year, he recruited triple-X stars Abella Danger and Lela Star to model for the promo campaign for his Yeezy clothing line's sixth collection ... and, of course, he married a woman whose life of stardom all began with a sex tape—Kim Kardashian.
