Exquisite Debuts 1st Title From Jersey Black’s Tabü World

LOS ANGELES—Monday is the street date for not only a new title but also a new imprint, distributed by Exquisite. The new studio, Tabü World, is the creation of veteran director Jersey Black. The studio’s tagline is “family values gone wrong”—putting it squarely into the fauxcest genre that’s been selling up a storm. And the title? In a word, it’s Depraved. “It’s a very twisted movie, but fun,” Black says. “It doesn’t take itself too seriously—hard sex with a little fetish mixed in.” But Black is serious about providing a quality product to the consumer. “It’s got good value—over two hours of content. It’s a good bang for your buck. Like its title, it’s very depraved. Things like this don’t happen in real life … I hope.” Black is a director with a lot of credits in the femdom genre, having worked extensively with Venus Girls and collaborated on some projects with Severe Sex. And he’s got some strong ladies in this cast, headlined by box cover beauty Victoria June. He cites “lots of good energy from the performers. They’re wonderful to work with and I’d like to work with them again.” Also in the cast are Norah Nova, Ashley Lovebug and Mercedes Carrera. “I love Mercedes. You can’t go wrong with her,” Black says. “They all did a great job. Everybody was really on point and gave it their all. “I’m promoting the taboo aspect of this particular line,” Black adds. “We’re doing a lot of step-family stuff and using a lot of talent that we’re excited about.” Someone else who’s happy about Tabü World is Ed Smith, responsible for the DVD sales through Exquisite. “As a person who’s in the DVD business, I am always looking for something that the market wants,” Smith says. “Obviously your taboo stuff, everybody’s doing it. Just like big butts never go out of style, taboo will never go out of style. And by hooking up with Jersey we’ll be assured we’ll have a constant stream of quality content. We’re excited to be in business with him. “We’re going to hit them hard,” he sums up. Black has been shooting since 2002. In addition to his work with Venus Girls, he also started other studios, including Kinky Muscle and Arrogant. In 2011 he moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. “I was one of the first migrations to Vegas, before it got trendy. A lot of people started coming out after that,” he says. And now that director Glenn King has relocated to Sin City, Black has been shooting at King’s MeanBitch Studios. “We’re got another [Tabü World] title coming out after Depraved. It’s titled FUBAR, which really fits the movie,” referring to the meaning behind the military acronym (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition).
