Madison Young To 'Reveal All Fear Nothing' In Solo Show In NYC

NEW YORK CITY—Madison Young is a familiar name to adult industry fans. Not only is she a seven-time award-winning filmmaker and author, but she's appeared in more than 200 adult videos and web scenes, mostly in non-sex and girl/girl roles, but she's occasionally cut loose on camera in releases such as Evil Angel's Anal Frenzy and Sex Z Pictures' Hillary For President (in 2008!). But Young's latest project is her multi-media performance and experimental theater piece, Reveal All Fear Nothing: A Journey in Sex, Love, Porn and Feminism, directed by Sophia La Paglia, adapted from the legendary Annie Sprinkle's one woman show, Post Porn Modernist, and set to be performed this Friday and Saturday nights, June 8 and 9, at The Tank, 312 West 36th Street in New York City. "This is theater that cracks wide open the sexual underground worlds of BDSM, pornography, and kink while demystifying and celebrating these often misunderstood and misrepresented communities and movements," Young explained. "Annie is a brilliant artist that never fails to inspire me with her ability to lead with her heart and create transformative large scale performative works with her community," Young wrote on the Reveal All Never Fear website. "Annie is also the God Mother of the 'post porn' movement and has inspired not only my body of work as a feminist pornographer, porn performer and artist but has been inspirational to a whole new generation erotic filmmakers and artists that have found strength in her vision and feminist voice in the world of sexuality." Young met Sprinkle and her wife/collaborator Beth Stephens about 12 years ago, and according to Young, they "became my fairy art mothers, my chosen family and the dearest of friends. We have been collaborating in one another’s artistic projects ever since... This version of Reveal All Fear Nothing is an adaptation from Annie Sprinkle’s one-woman show, Post Porn Modernist, performed from 1989-1994. Reveal All takes the powerful narrative that Annie Sprinkle wove together over two decades ago in Post Porn Modernist but with a new story, a new voice, a new generations perspective on kink, porn, and feminism... My love and deep gratitude go out to Annie for paving the way with her radical and fearless performances and activism." The Tank, where Young will be performing, is a Manhattan-based multi-disciplinary arts presenter and producer whose mission is to remove economic barriers from the creation of new work by artists launching their careers and experimenting within their art form in an environment that is inclusive and accessible to all.
