Alana Evans Divulges Plans for Own Defamation Suit Against Cohen

LOS ANGELES—AVN Hall of Fame performer Alana Evans intends to follow Stormy Daniels' lead in her defamation complaint against President Trump's attorney Michael Cohen by filing a suit of her own against the beleaguered presidential associate for the same offense. Evans, who serves as president of the Adult Performers Actors Guild (APAG), explained to AVN that while Cohen may not have named her explicitly in his refutals of Daniels' claims about her relationship with Trump, one of the first such refutals was in direct response to Evans' January account to The Daily Beast corroborating Daniels' story and adding details about her own involvement. Because of Cohen's insistence the account was untrue, Evans says she has suffered a blow to her own reputation among fans and peers.  "I am filing a defamation lawsuit against Michael Cohen because what he did was give a statement directly to the Independent in the U.K. in reference to my story," Evans told AVN. "It was a direct response." In that story, as told to The Daily Beast's Aurora Snow, Evans recounted that she was at the same 2006 celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe where Daniels met Trump, and was implored by Daniels over a number of phone calls to join the two of them in Trump's hotel room. The Independent picked up the story and printed a statement from Cohen's own attorney David Schwartz calling it a "complete and utter lie." The statement continued, "This is recycled old fake news that has no validity whatsoever and everyone named, including Mr. Cohen vehemently denies this. It is fake news like this that has people questioning what is real and what is fake." Elaborating on her impending suit against Cohen, Evans said, "I didn't pick up the phone the day that we all found out about the payoff and call The Daily Beast ... that was a phone conversation I had with Aurora Snow before the election. And so the minute that Cohen comes out calling me and my story 'fake news,' saying that it's completely untrue and they denied it—and then he went even further to basically say that everyone in relation to this is saying that it didn't happen ... that's absolutely not true, because I never said anything of the sort. My story about this never changed. "So when I am the only one speaking out, and that's what was happening at the time, and he feels the need to put out a statement about me—of course it's about me, there was no question that it was about me—that's why I'm doing this," she continued. "Because I'm tired of being called a liar because of him, and I would say because of the president, but the president hasn't been talking about this, and we know why he's not talking about this, because he's not telling the truth, and he doesn't want to get caught in any more lies."
