Misty Stone Makes Stage Debut in 'Three on a Ring'

HOLLYWOOD—Adult megastar Misty Stone lit up the stage Friday night in the premiere performance of her first-ever play, Three on a Ring, enjoying a three-show run this weekend at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. In the play, a comedy of errors written and executive produced by Everett Anderson and directed by Dan Martin, Stone portrays Karen, one of two long-lost wives to main character Carl (Patrick Faucette) who show up on the day he's supposed to tie the knot for a third time. Stone makes her entrance at the end of the play's first half and proceeds to steal the spotlight throughout the second with an ebbulient, enchanting performance indicative of a natural born flair for the stage. Stone certainly seems to have been bitten by the acting bug, telling AVN after the show, "I'm an adrenaline junkie, I just found that out today. I don't even like smoking weed anymore, I just want to be on the play stage. I love it. I love the energy from the audience and the energy from your cast members and just being on stage—not on set, but on stage in front of a live audience. Feeling your character's intentions ... I didn't even know what that meant! I'm like, 'Oh my god, I'm an actress!' So I'm excited." Explaining just how new of an experience this is to her, Stone said, "I was not in a musical in high school, I never did any type of opera or anything like that in junior high school ... yeah, this is my first play." Asked how she got cast in the role, she revealed that the producers actually reached out to her. "They told me that it was a farce comedy, and they told me what it was about," she recounted. "They said it was a non-sex role, but I would be kind of running around with a towel. I was like, 'Oh you know what, I could totally do that!' They didn't just give me the job off hand, because they wanted to see how good of an actress I was first—they're not stupid. So they had me come in for a couple of auditions. Once you get that second audition, you know you got it. I went around and I told everybody I already was in the play." It was in January that Stone officially landed the part, and she said she's been in rehearsals since then. "It's actually been consuming my life," she professed. "But I'm OK with that. I've been able to balance both adult and this at the same time, which is interesting because I'm not very multitask, but I'm doing it. All things are possible." A number of adult industry colleagues attended Friday night's performance to wintess Stone's legit thespian debut, including newly inducted AVN Hall of Famer Alexis Amore, Priya Rai, publicist James Bartholet, director/performer Brad Armstrong (who last directed her in his acclaimed drama Ethni•City just over a year ago) and Mr. Marcus, who raved afterwards that her performance was "outstanding" and "infectious." Stone hinted that the show's producers are looking to add dates at the end of this month and in April, and following that, "We can tour around to your city next, baby. This is just the beginning." For now, Three on a Ring has remaining performances tonight at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.threeonaring.com.     Pictured: Misty Stone with co-stars Thomas Bell and Graciela Patiño (photo by James Bartholet).
